Carolina Foothill Resort keeps getting better and better. A dozen or so Travelites visited the park over this Memorial Day Weekend. Several of us rented cabins, some tented, others just made day trips.
The band during the day on Saturday was great. The dinner was well worth the low price. There was pork roast, chicken, slaw, potato salad, cabbage, rolls, cakes, etc. If you didn't get enough the first time you filled your plate, you could go back for more. I've no idea when the DJ dance ended that night.
Sunday, friends who live there invited us for a huge brunch. CFR's annual auction netted them over $3,400 towards their fireworks production. A few people showed up for the Government Affairs and Marketing training that AANR and the Eastern Region support.
Sunday night's dinner as well as the entire weekend was a chance to visit with old friends and new. Several played multiple games of volleyball both water and sand. They have a new horseshoe pit that was well used.
As we entered and left, we noticed some new home construction near the entrance. The cabins have been all re-decorated and spruced up. They're not rustic at all any more.
Monday came all too soon as we had to head home. We did find a new place to eat breakfast/brunch on the way home at the new strip center at the intersection of 292 and hwy 9, The Skillet. Good food done right and at a good price.
We look forward to returning over FrogFest weekend, July 25-27. Cabin 1 is already rented.

The next Travelites' gathering will be a clothed "Introduction to Nudism" at our property on May 31. The event begins at 4pm with a short seminar on nudism/naturism followed by two 13-min. videos from the national organizations after which we'll have a potluck supper at @6:30. After dinner the house and deck will be clothing optional and the hot tub will be nude only. This would be a good time to bring your reluctant friend, girlfriend, or someone you met who expressed some interest.
June 14th is the club's birthday party. Come and celebrate our 21st year and the beginning of our 22nd. There will be grilled hamburgers/cheeseburgers and birthday cake. Join us for a full day of relaxation under the sun and dinner at 6:30. Gathering begins at 3 at our property.
Remember if you'd like to come and enjoy some sun and don't have the availability at your home, give me/us a shout. The hot tub is usually always open to friends.
