Members and friends joined together from all over SC and parts of GA to celebrate Travelites' 21st birthday. The volley ball court was ready as was the horseshoes & boulder toss. There was the standard garlic/spinach dip plus Caroline's pepperoni/cheese/jalapeno appetizer as well as a variety of chips.
We dined on NY strip steaks, baked vidalia onions, corn on the cob, tossed salad with a variety of dressings, garlic bread, as well as premium ice cream choices and baked chocolate duet cookies.
The membership meeting went off quite smoothly with selection the regional and national delegates.
Plans were tentatively made to have additional events possibly during the weekday evenings for maybe volleyball games, horseshoes, card games, etc. There were no changes offered to the bylaws.
The hot tub was perfect. Some enjoyed the shade on the deck, others the sun on the lawn, and yet still others relaxed in air conditioning. There were some increases in the auction items (see below or at http://pages.prodigy.net/travelites/_wsn/page7.html. We had so much fun, we forgot to memorialize the day with a photo.
The next event will be a pool party at Mindy & Bob's in Williston. When you RSVP, you will be sent directions. Gathering begins @ 2pm. Please bring snacks to share and your own beverages.
