We've had plenty of mention of the use of towels at nudist venues, but what about in your own home. At home, do you sit and/or lie on a towel or do you sit naked on your furniture? Do you use more than one towel? Do you have a favorite towel? Do you use the same towels you use for the bath? For guests? How often do you wash your towels?

Look at the posts I've posted. There's plenty there about what I/we do with regards to towels and this topic.

I'm almost always on topic and only go off for a bit of humor. How much can one have to say or need to say about using or not using towels on furniture at home?

Or ... maybe you didn't care for my dig about who played in the Super Bowl!

...and my wife and lady friends seem to like Perry Ellis. That's what my wife and daughters have me wearing now.

OK FP...Do a public service for us guys on what cologne you are using, but put something in about sitting on a towel as well so that we stay on topic.

We probably all have a favorite seat in our home. In our sectional, mine is the most broken in spot on this piece of furniture. I never paid much attention to it and I tend to sit there and watch TV with my wife after our evening showers, but every time we have a gathering, like we did for Super Bowl Sunday, my spot was always taken up by one of our female friends.

I was asked how come I didn't sit and watch the game. I replied that I didn't care for who was playing and that every time I thought about it, someone was in my spot! Two of our female friends said, "you know why that is, don't you?" I said, "cuz it's the best seat in the house?" They both said, "no, it smells of your cologne! Best smelling spot in the house unless we're standing close to you!" :D

Can't take all the credit. My wife changed up my brand. It must be one they all like! ;)

LOL

I sit naked all the time at home! I love walking around free and relaxed

I think the point being made is that ... we all do different things in our lives that we most times ... live nude. There really isn't a right way or wrong way of how you live your nudist life, in your own home. The only time there are any rules or standards of etiquette or behavior is when we are around other nudists and then there needs to be a common ground area and respect for one another.

There are certain times when we've been naked and sat on our own furniture. It's not a big deal, it's our furniture but ... we've just been in the habit of sitting on towels that that is just the way we do it ... most of the time. If you'd rather not, in your own home, that's perfectly fine. There is no hard, fast rule that that's the way it should be.

We sit on our furniture naked. When we go to the resort we sit on towels. Have not hosted or been to any nude house parties yet but would either put out or bring an extra towel. Of coarse we vaccume our furniture regularly.

i use those nice comfy $5. blankets you get at big box stores and fold them over lengthwise to fit the sofa and depending on weather may change out after a few day and all get washed on wash days. towels are ok but these are alot softer.

At least California has some code about gray water. When I built my home I found that our code did not have any provision for gray water at all and the local building code enforcement officials didn't want to deal with it. I ended up installing a shower outside on my lawn so at least the shower water goes to the lawn in summer.

I hear you about the kitchen water. Some people put a lot of food scraps down their drain. The material I read about gray water systems say that pumps and outlets tend to clog up with hair and other messy things. More design support needs to be provided by the plumbing industry.

Freezing would be another problem for gray water distribution in winter here. That's probably not a problem in much of California. If gray water distribution was supported we could have a diversion valve to turn when the weather turned cold. Shut it off in fall while blowing out the sprinkler pipes.

Washing towels to sit on every day would create a lot more laundry over time and waste a lot of water, especially in dry places like California. And as mentioned, if the towel was needed, turning it over next time would be a problem. Just washing my back side makes more sense to me. I like feeling clean.

Amen on conserving water in drought-stricken California. I am thinking of planting cactus everywhere in my garden, and exchanging my car for a camel.

Washing towels takes water. I do think about using paper towels to sit on. Maybe the "quicker-picker upper" would suffice. Maybe I'll just lie on the carpet and let it go at that.

One thing that is obvious to me is that nudists forget which side of the towel they sat on when they go to use that towel again, after they've been walking around, and have taken their towel with them. Makes you wonder if a towel is the answer. Maybe you should spray the sat-on area with a disinfectant, if at a nudist resort.

I will sit naked on the furniture after I have taken a shower. If I used the restroom at any point during the day, I will sit on a towel to be safe.

With Mrs. Jimmie being more and more tolerant of me being naked more often, I always have a towel to sit on while sitting on the couch - keeps her happy. I keep a couple of "nudie" towels around with a snap to secure it - kind of like a sarong - as the neighbor girl is out on her trampoline all the time so its an easy on easy off type of thing when I sit down.
