Posted - 08/11/2006 : 10:04:42 PM For my very first experience, it was a nude beach with my girlfriend and very best male friend at about 18 yrs old, it was the first time for all of us, then I went years without doing it at all, but got involved about 3 years ago. I went straight to a nudist resort, and after the initial nervousness, found it to be such a wonderful experience that I was hooked. People accepted you as you were, really took the time to sit and talk about things. And the wonderful feeling of being outdoors letting the sun and breeze all over you was something. We do have a known nude hiking area near where I live, but if you wander too far, you end up in a gay area where they do a little more than nudity. I find much more comfort at the resort, and have made many friends there. It is a wonderful thing to do in life, but can be a challenge to find another to share it and life with. Take care, and enjoy.... |

Posted - 08/10/2006 : 12:03:57 PM Nice one Justjim, I figure it would be hard for a 12 year old to play volleyball against a college football squad. Nice example LOL, quite funny. |

Posted - 06/19/2006 : 4:15:06 PM I much prefer the nudist resort to a nude beach and most definitely feel that there would be a much higher chance of "first timers" with kids enjoying themselves at a resort. Everyone there has "read the rules" of etiquette, has a full understanding of expected/required behavior, and everyone there is nude rather than having the potential of non-nude gawkers (as gladdyman mentioned above). Activities for kids are often already in place at nudist resorts, whereas they might not be for kids on a nude beach. It's very difficult for a 12 year old boy to play beach volleyball against the front line of a college football squad, for instance.
Nudist resorts are family oriented, equipped to handle children's needs and interests, and the kids who are already there will make it seem all the more natural and fun.

Posted - 06/13/2006 : 04:05:48 AM Hi nudeone Once youv'e been to the beach a few times you still might want to have a look at what happens at a club. We have found people are far more friendly at a club and you don't have to put up with the gawkers walking about clothed with the possibility of photos being taken without your permission. We also had a bad experience of being pestered by a man on the beach in Australia that was so bad that we went and found another beach |

Posted - 07/20/2005 : 9:01:47 PM thanks fireprof i was so proud of him handling this in that way
his father told him a similar thing about he may get more ive only noticed this happening once or twice while around home with father & son we all took this as being natural and ignored it, but he says it wont stop him from going again and the whole family is eager to go again thank you again

Posted - 07/19/2005 : 10:15:57 AM I think it was the right thing to tell him and a very mature way for your son to handle it.
You'll find many different opinions of this subject. Most will tell you that erections are natural and happen occasionally but that nudist etiquette is such that when they happen it is polite to sit, lay down, go into the water til the erection subsides. You son putting his shorts on was okay but it would have also been okay for him to take them off once the erection subsided. It would be good to tell him that this may happen again but that after a few more visits to the beach they probably won't happen as frequently.
Glad you had a good time at the beach. Hope you have many more! |

Posted - 07/19/2005 : 03:49:53 AM hi again just thought i would let everyone now ny son & daughter & myself went to a nudist beach for the first time, on the weekend a bit cool for swiming but nice in the sun we both enjoyed it very much even played some netball with others on the beach.
i noticed my son wearing he's shorts after awhile i never said anything there, but on the way home i asked why he put them back on he said he had an erection and felt very embarrsed about it i told him not worry about it is natural. i wonder is that the right or wrong thing to tell him. |

Posted - 07/12/2005 : 3:12:22 PM Well now I can actually comment on this topic as I have been to both c/o beaches and nudist resorts. My comfort level at the resorts has been immediate and continues throughout the visit. My comfort level at the beaches is intermittent at best. I know at the resort that everyone there is there because they ARE nudists while at the beach any Joe Schmoe will show up, stay clothed, gawk and be there to just get a good show. I also know who to run to should a jerk appear at a resort - they offer a well controlled environment as Cheri said. My involvement in nudity was shaky until I went to the Eastern Nudist Gathering and then Sunny Rest Lodge because of the issues at the public beach, but now I know I can be a nudist and relax and enjoy when surrounded with people of like minds. |

Posted - 07/12/2005 : 08:21:07 AM The downside of the beach is the idots that just wonder around gawking or worse yet, taking pictures. Of course, I don't have anything to worry about but my wife.... I wouldn't want to put her through that risk. While still working on it, I suspect she would feel more comfortable at a small resort. |

Posted - 07/12/2005 : 01:35:57 AM I like the anonymity of a beach plus good behaviour but also appreciate structured club e.g. Brisbane Forum Social Club (Non-Landed) envoirment. Thanks:Shining5687. |

Posted - 07/12/2005 : 01:05:06 AM Personally, I think the nude beach, if available is the best option to give it a try. I never seem to have extra money, but I can always afford parking fees. Plus the only rule on a public beach is good behaviour.
I guess it depends on the person. Some may feel safer in a closed, structured environment. But I enjoy the anonymity of the beach. There I know no-one and don't feel like I'm being judged, and if I am, I don't care. I don't bother anyone and they don't bother me.

Posted - 07/11/2005 : 5:36:37 PM I got to nude beaches all the time. I feel very free there and no one judges you. It will feel right when you're there and i think taking your kids there is a great idea! It is a experiance they will never forget!
