Posted - 02/19/2008 : 12:40:57 AM Hello all !! I have come to this forum to get answers from fellow nudists outside of my family.
My question has been troubling for quite some time.
Im a younger male (18) and still in high school. My girlfriend is the same age and she is a nudist as well. My parents have always tought me to be free-living and embrace the wonderful nudist lifestyle, and I do ! However, I have come across some problems that I dont know how to handle. We hang out at my house a lot and watch movies, swim, exercise etc. But when we cuddle on the couch I seem to get erect and I dont know what to do. I know that it is 100 percent natural, but it seems like it is almost too sexual for a public setting. Should I just get up and walk away when it happens ? Or just lay there with her and hope it goes away, haha ?
She doesnt mind at all. When it happens in my bedroom, we will usually just have sex... But when it is in the living room on the couch, I dont know what to do.
Can anyone help ??
My parents have told me that it is natural and I shouldnt feel weird about it. And they also say that I should NOT get up and walk off or anything like that because it is normal for someone my age.
What do you guys think ?? |

Me neither. I find the suggestion sexist and insulting.

I wonder what the good Doctor has to say about this and can shed some light on this phenomenon.

Posted - 02/08/2017 : 8:14:18 PM This resurrected thread was initially posted in 2008. Which means the OP is now 27.
Either he has experienced nudism by now and has figured out that erections are not really a "thing" when socially nude. Or he never even tried it!
But yeah...when I got off the couch and became a social nudist myself I quickly realized that when socially nude, "spontaneous erections" rather rarely occurred. And when they did it was a rather easy "situation" to resolve.

Posted - 02/08/2017 : 06:53:57 AM I reckon if you are sitting there naked with your girlfriend at 18 on the couch watching a movie, sitting up close and you don't get an erection there'd be something wrong. Man, it's natural get over it. You've worked out the solution. The comments by your folks are correct. Consider yourself lucky being raised in a nudist house-hold and environment, can't imagine that as it is so far from a strict Catholic upbringing it's not funny.
It feels more awkward at the beach the first time, it tends to happen when you are younger I think. Maybe I'm used to being nude at the beach and in front of others but it doesn't happen much now and when it does I roll over on the towel. Maybe being over 50 reduces the frequency but it still works when I want it to. Cheers, SBN. |

I was attempting to be serious. I sometimes get an erection with pants on. The fact that people can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. If I remove my pants, people can see it, and that's part of what naturism means to me. It's stripping off that last layer of 'armor' and being honest. It's hard to hide your faults, naked.

Posted - 10/01/2010 : 12:33:49 AM I tend to agree with balataf. When I was that age, I could get an erection from a breeze. It isn't necessarily sexual, just a response to sensations/thoughts. Certainly, cuddling with your girlfriend on the couch is a sensual experience. Your erection will pass, eventually, and is perfectly normal.
I don't understand why people get so hung up on whether someone has an erection or not. We're nudists/naturists! A penis occasionally gets erect. It's not like we're running around bludgeoning people with it! |

Posted - 09/18/2010 : 5:58:18 PM A serious answer: Any girl/woman/lady who is old enuf to be involved in this type of question should be mature enuf to face the reality of how men are designed, and the way that this process proceeds. DID YOU THINK OF ASKING HOW SHE WOULD HANDLE THE QUESTION? (No pun originally intended, but it is approriate.) There are normal, satisfactory, ways to deal with it. |

Posted - 09/17/2010 : 3:58:54 PM You described your nudist lifestyle and your relationship with your GF, and then you asked a question that makes no sense at all. It is not bashing at all to question your intent for being on the site. Duh. Be real, and do not insult us. Your question was far more ridiculous than any response I have seen to it thus far. Respect goes both ways.

Another board I was on had a very persistent troll that was intent on bashing the nudist lifestyle. However after seeing all the nice and patient responses he received, was converted, and he’s now a nudist living fulltime in a resort in FL.

You know, Digers, I never thought of that. I see the light, now. Thank you for that information. I did notice that the fellow did come back for the second time, which some "trolls" never do. I guess most of them just leave one message and take off, never to be seen again.
I am deeply appreciative of that insight, and will remember exactly what you said.
Thank you!!!

It seems like a troll to me, and others. I'm sorry if I offended, but my humor is a bit off beat.

Posted - 09/11/2009 : 12:01:38 PM I say be comfortable. Your parents know and you should not be embrassed in your own house. Everyone else is fine with it and so should you. It's natural. |
