I know nudism is about being comfortable with your own body and everything, and for the most part I am. But one thing that bothers me is that, I've seen many nudist websites with pictures and stuff, and every single man that I've seen has a completely hairless behind. Mine is rather hairy. It isn't gross or anything, but it has about as much hair as my thighs do, and I would consider my legs to be slightly hairier than average. It isn't a huge deal, but I would like to know what the views are on this. Are there plenty of men with hairy butts at resorts and beaches, or would I be the only one? I refuse to shave it, but I do feel somewhat uncomfortable about it, as almost I've seen no picture of a man with a hairy butt. |

You will have some here that try to yank you chain so don't let them get to you. You will find all kinds at the beaches and resorts so don't worry. As for the photos on the resort web sites, believe me you will find very few there that look like the photos.

At my club I really couldn't say how many or what percent of the men are hairy. I really, really don't pay any attention. There is however, one exceptionally hairy man. I will tell you that lots of women come up to him and rub their hands on his hairy chest and back. -and before anyone says it, come on folks grow up these are all friends this isn't sexual behavior- the women fondly call him thier favorite furby which is appreciated by all.

its a matter of preference if one is hairy thats ok if one is smooth that is ok, been a nudist for 20+ years and seen some that look like gorillas and some smooth as a baby and everywhere in between, i prefer being smooth but if your hairy that is also ok, nudism is suppose to be about acceptance but remember its not a perfect world, so go enjoy a nudist club the way you prefer. |

Okay, I see what your saying. I guess basically, I don't want to get weird looks or anything. But one thing I still don't know is, how common is it? I've never seen a man with a hairy butt in a picture on a nudist website. I haven't exactly searched through many pictures, but it just seems pretty rare. |

Precisely. You can pick up some men's body groom clippers at Target for a few dollars. My spouse "de-fur-minates" me every month or so. |

Trust me most of us don't care. That is why you have had so few responces to the topic. I get to Gunnison in NJ a few times a year. Most of the men there are hairy. I think Pilot was suggesting you could trim the hair insted of shaving.

This is the major reason why I am apprehensive towards nudity. For a population that preaches their open-mindedness and non-judgmental attitudes, it seems that a hairy butt isn't exactly accepted. I didn't even ask how to remove the hair, in fact, I said I refused to. And here I am getting advice on how to go about removing it. I wanted to know whether or not it's acceptable, and with the exception of TxLady1, it appears that it's not. And for that reason I do not want to be nudist, if I'm going to get strange looks for leaving my body in the natural state.
Shaving every other day isn't worth it for me, and if I shave my back side, I have to shave my entires legs, because otherwise there's an abrubt bald spot in the hair, and it looks horrible. Maybe I'm taking this too seriously, but I'm very uncomfortable when I feel as if others are talking about me for being different. It makes me sad to know that I would be largely alone if I were ever to go a nudist resort or beach, and having someone shoot lasers up and down my body to remove hair doesn't exactly appear to be what being a nudist is about. |

From a ladies perspective and only speaking for myself. I don't find hairy derrieres offensive any more than I find a smooth behind on a man sexy. I think if you're comfortable with yourself then do as you like. I've never understood all the chatter about being smooth. I have had boyfriends with a wide range of 'hairieness' and liked each of them equally since I like folks from the inside out. |
