Posted - 10/02/2011 : 04:58:02 AM Who would be the most nudist friendly president in 2012?
Here is a list of the announced candidates for the 2012 Republican nomination. Please vote for the Republican presidential nominee you feel would be the most nudist friendly, supporting the individual's right to be nude in appropriate settings. If unsure, vote for the candidate you would lean toward.
This poll addresses particularly nudist issues, and the candidate's support of the traditional family nudist lifestyle.
For general issues, see the other poll, "NRO 2012 Presidential Straw Poll - April 2012." |

We would have freedoms like we have never had in many decades.
I lived in New Mexico while Gary Johnson was Governor. Johnson had some good positions, but he would not support America and Americans in any significant way. Johnson just didn't have the horsepower to get elected or to do the job.
President Trump is doing quite a bit of good getting the government off our backs. His wife is not anti-naked and I don't think the Donald is either. The over reach of BLM and other agencies is being cut back.

Posted - 06/02/2017 : 7:40:05 PM Here we are with the Donald being president. (Don't know how the term,"The Donald" came about).
He is a strange one in that he has no experience in gov't or law. Time will tell.

From a nudist and political point of view, he would have been by far the nude-friendly president in history. Mostly anything, but true crime, would have been permitted as far as federal law goes. Naked in the national forests or parks, not a problem.
Instead we were mostly given the choice between two egomaniacs for office. Who knows what their attitude toward substantial natural rights freedoms we would have with them.
On we go.

Posted - 05/03/2017 : 09:13:21 AM We could talk about any moves the current President is making to allow or prohibit human bodies. On the whole he seems to oppose government regulations, and his wife's nude photos are still going around. On the whole he seems more nude friendly than most.

As an outsider I have no idea but I wonder how would this question be framed now?
Since the next election is about 3.5 years out, I supposed it would be framed "The most nudist friendly president in 2020?" |

Posted - 06/26/2015 : 5:42:58 PM You are exactly right. The current environment is that "if it's not my idea then...NO!". Cracks me up how the Republican party has raised a ruckus about ideas presented by Obama or the Democratic Party that were originally proposed by the Republicans during the Bush administration. Of course the Democrats do exactly the same. |

But that was 50 years ago, before cell phone cameras, the Internet, TMZ, Gawker, etc. Even if our next President - whoever it turns out to be - wanted to do the same, it would be all over the Webs within 24 hours.
And the opposing party would jump all over it, painting a portrait of the President as a sexual deviant who runs amuck "forcing" people to be nude.
That is the unfortunate way of our current political landscape.

I have not problem with that. It would set a powerful leadership change.

You answere your own question. Ben Franklin was a life long supporter of going naked every day.
Several other Presidents commonly went skinny dipping in the Potomac during summers in DC.

Posted - 06/17/2015 : 2:32:05 PM It's hard to say. Republican politicians, despite their constant bleating about "freedom", tend to favor moralistic policies that restrict behaviors that make them uneasy. Democratic politicians, while ostensibly more open-minded on social issues - birth control, gay marriage and so on - are a little too quick to use the power of the Nanny State to "protect" us from ourselves.
As even a cursory survey of this site will demonstrate, nudists are a fractious, politically diverse bunch, and definitely not a cohesive voting bloc. Would the Tea Baggers among us vote for Hillary if she announced her support for nude access to public lands? Would the Libtards turn out for Jeb Bush if he held a campaign rally at Haulover Beach?
Most likely the words "nudist" or "clothing-optional" will not figure prominently in the upcoming debates. There's just no advantage in trying to cater to our insignificant demographic. |
