Not sure I agree KK has set naturalism / naturism, whatever it is people describe us as doing, back a hundred or a thousand years.
She is a big name and is showing she may have an hourglass figure but really is she so special?
In some ways she is showing that she has a nice body but is she special or is sexy clothing that special.
I agree with one of the other comments, many people are laughing at her, many others just see this lot as media junkies.
What is it with these children of wealthy parents that have done nothing themselves but feel the need to accidentally release a sex tape or nude photos or whatever.
Don't think it sets back our cause, clear thinking people will see this media slavery as a desperate attempt at attention from people who have money but have not earned it or achieved anything by themselves of substance in their own lives.

It is sad. Humans are the only species that is ashamed of our bodies and feel the need to cover up. We are the only species who has to hide our mating, defecating, grooming, or other body funcitons. Every other species does them in sight of others of its species, and has no moral or other concerns about their bodies.
We are the only species that has a concept that pleasurable body functions are "perverted." It is sad.

If I posed like Kardashian, I'd personally set back nudism to the 12th century.
It is too bad that there are people who have to engage in exhibitionism. They only appeal to the perverted, puerile, or weak minds. We are the only life form on earth, that I know of, that engages in trashy behavior like that. Dolphins are very intelligent creatures, but they don't engage in that activity. Man is more intelligent, but does engage in that. Is the only lesson we can get from this is - it takes more intelligence to be perverted?
Intelligence is not a guarantor of socially redeeming behavior. Give me good old fashioned nudism any time.

Hmm, while I think it's a mistake to underestimate the stupidity of the average person, I'm not sure there will be a connection made to a nudist lifestyle by those photos. Kim is sort of soft core porn, IMO, and part of the glitzy, Hollywood celeberty world. As we all know, nudists are old and fat; live in "colonies" and shop at Walmart...not even close to Kimmy's world.

But thinking about it later, I think most people have a level of critical reasoning that can differentiate between Kim K. and nudists. Kim K. is a publicity-driven media circus, and the above pics are just an exemplification of that.

They aren't about "nudist life style." They are about regular people getting used to seeing naked bodies in normal everyday style lives.
I'm not about "nudist life style" either. I'm about being naked in a normal everyday life too. The naked celebrities showing naked lives are a step in the right direction for millions who would never even think about a "nudist life style."

I don't really think all of these celebrity naked pictures popping up all over the Internet have anything to do with the nudist lifestyle. I admit I read some of the tabloid trash myself..guilty! But it's purely for entertainment nothing more.

I choose to believe that many of those "rags" stay in the racks and get sent to the recycle bin when the next issues come out.
I think there are plenty of people that click on some/most things Kardashian but I also believe that the vast majority of society doesn't take them seriously at all.

I'm hopeful that The Kardashian's following is much smaller than we think. The vast majority of society, I hope, has millions more brain cells than the average Kardashian follower. I think most people are sick of the Kardashians period. I don't read a thing that has to do with any of them and they seem to be kept alive only because the media gets bored when there's no other news to report on.
What that woman and family do is always for publicity. I don't see anything they do as worth while nor does it contribute to society one bit. Their brand, their publicity stunts, their TV show ... all for the brainless, as far as I'm concerned. I don't think her nude photo shoot did nudism any harm because the vast majority of society doesn't pay any attention to her or her family.

I await any shred of evidence that Kim's notorious photo has promoted the acceptance of nudity. I think it more likely that the Kardashian "brand" (i.e., narcissism and exhibitionism) will play right into people's worst suspicions about nudists, even though the vast majority of us are not narcissists or exhibitionists. |

I didn't see the "spread."
The more people are seen naked the better. It doesn't matter where or why they are seen naked. Seeing someone naked teaches everyone who sees it that naked is acceptable. Kim K is seen by a lot more people than some no-name model in an unknown venue. A naked magazine spread of a well known like Kim will do more to promote being naked and general acceptance of being naked than few other people could.
