********************************************************************** NATURIST ACTION COMMITTEE ACTION ALERT ********************************************************************** http://www.naturistsociety.com/NAC/ **********************************************************************
DATE : June 12, 2003 SUBJECT: Fort Ord Dunes, California TO : All naturists
Dear Naturist,
The Naturist Action Committee is asking for your immediate PROACTIVE help with a local issue that may ultimately expand to benefit naturists on a far greater scale.
FORT ORD DUNES
Fort Ord Dunes consists of approximately 886 acres of parkland located near the city of Marina in Monterey County, California. It includes four miles of ocean beach. The property is being conveyed to the California Department of Parks and Recreation by the U.S. Department of Defense following closure of the Fort Ord military reservation. The Department of Parks and Recreation has initiated a process to develop a general plan for the new state park.
A section of the beach has been de facto clothing optional for many years. NAC is working to have a portion of the beach designated as clothing optional from the very beginning in the initial general plan for the state park.
OPPORTUNITY!
Naturists now have an opportunity to make their wishes known. The Department of Parks and Recreation is soliciting comments via a survey. The survey form may be downloaded online and printed from: HERE
Please complete a survey form and mail it to the Department of Parks and Recreation by June 30, 2003. Mailing instructions are included on the form.
WHO SHOULD SEND A FORM?
The Naturist Action Committee asks ALL CONCERNED NATURISTS to take the time to fill out a form and mail it.
If you are a California resident, please stress the existence of a safe, secure clothing-optional beach as a major factor in your decision to visit the Monterey area. If you are from another state or country, please emphasize that the presence or absence of a clothing-optional beach is a major factor in your decision where to spend your vacation dollars.
PLEASE HELP NAC HELP NATURISTS IN CALIFORNIA AND ELSEWHERE
The Naturist Action Committee exists to advance and protect the rights of naturists throughout North America. NAC is a volunteer nonprofit organization that relies on the grass roots participation of naturists who understand that individuals working together can make a difference.
NAC has no membership roster on which to assess dues, and it relies completely on voluntary contributions from concerned and involved naturists like you.
After you've completed the California Parks and Recreation form, won't you also take a moment to help NAC by sending a generous donation? You may send your donation to the address below, or you may call toll free (800) 886-7230 to donate by phone using your MasterCard or Visa.
NAC PO Box 132 Oshkosh, WI 54903
Thank you for choosing to make a difference!
Naturally,
Charles Harris Director Naturist Action Committee
