Posted - 07/29/2005 : 6:21:13 PM What is the status of Hobe Sound Beach? My wife and I are wanting to plan a weekend there and want to know exactly where the nude beach area is. We had our first nude beach experience this week at Apollo Beach and really enjoyed it. Thanks for any input you can give us. |

Posted - 09/29/2014 : 9:55:12 PM There is a new nude beach that has been created just a little north of Hobe Sound called Blind Creek Beach. You can find it on Google. It is 8 miles south of Ft. Pierce, and about 15 or so miles north of Hobe Sound, just north of the nuclear power plant. We recently went there on a Saturday and there were at least 30 people there. It is an 'unofficial nude beach' but the people who created Haulover Beach (Richard and Shirley) have been working on getting the authorities in this area to recognize this beach as being a nude beach. The authorities have been generally accepting of the idea of a nude beach here as long as there isn't any trouble. As a result, Richard and Shirley are putting together a team of 'beach ambassadors' like they have at Haulover to monitor the people on the beach for any violations (lewd activity, glass bottles, etc). We had a great time there and since this is close to where we live, we plan on being there several times per week. We love it!!! |

Posted - 09/24/2013 : 8:15:31 PM Just walk north. Its a pretty deserted beach to be honest. No one really uses it except a few fishermen and older couples walking on the beach. |

Posted - 07/11/2013 : 7:39:06 PM We're heading up to Hobe Sound beach this Saturday! Hopefully the weather holds up. Any updates or new information about the area.
Anyone know if there are any landmarks to give us an idea when we're getting close to a mile or mile and a half? |

Posted - 02/10/2013 : 4:50:43 PM its an isolated beach. The worst that I've heard going on there is the ranger comes by and asks people to cover up. We've also had where the rangers just pass by. We were on a blanket and rolled over and only our butts were exposed and we were facing the dune.
It's a great spot. No one around. NO gawkers. Nuthin. |

Posted - 02/03/2013 : 11:09:48 AM Sounds like a really nice place! From the descriptions, it reminds me of Johnson Beach, on Perdido Key, FL. The rangers (or contractors) do the same wildlife checks on ATVs there. Lots of bird and turtle nesting areas marked off with signs and flagging there.
Have a great NUDE day!!

Posted - 01/07/2013 : 7:11:41 PM Active 60's couple in PBC have visited Hobe Sound several times but never made it far enough north to really enjoy it. Can go any time of the week if weather is good enough. Anybody else? |

Posted - 12/27/2012 : 7:12:41 PM So I went to the Hobe Sound International Wildlife Refuge today and had an amazing day. I enjoyed hours of clothing free tanning with only one park ranger who drove by me on a four wheeler. There are many good places to hide up in the dunes after about a mile and a half walk north of the parking area. There were more people than I expected, but I still had the ability to sunbathe mostly undisturbed. I did a lot of exploring to find potential places to relax and ran into a trail that leads into the dunes about a mile and a quarter north of the parking area. I am pretty sure that you are not 'supposed' to go back on that trail, but there is no sign saying so, which leads me to believe that you could plead ignorance if caught. I suggest taking the trail to the right, then making your first left after a couple of minutes; this will lead you to a beautiful sanctuary which you can relax, sunbathe, and hike 'Au Natural' without a problem. |

Posted - 12/27/2012 : 04:25:10 AM I was wondering how exactly to get to the beach entrance specifically after turning right into the center from Route 1. I was also wondering if there was any female company out there that would like to join me at that beach? I am new to the area, just moved here from Philadelphia. |
