Posted - 06/23/2007 : 7:29:04 PM I am heading down to Florida for a conference on July 7th, which is a Saturday. I will be getting in at 9:30a and I am planning on heading to Playlinda or Apollo beach. Does anyone have any recommendations? I do not think I will get there until around 11 am. Will I have issues with parking? Does anyone have any thoughts? My back plan was to head to either - - Resort or - - on the west coast for the day. Thanks ahead of time. |

Posted - 08/05/2013 : 8:49:11 PM Yep, last winter I decided to stay in the playalinda area and went to the beach almost daily. You could see the changes going on like you say. I wish Brevard county would throw out their anti nudity law. I think naked tourism would boost their economy. It would make a nice second to Haulover. Wife and I are going to Florida the 28th to the 8th. We plan on looking into some nude resorts for the winter stay and will visit the beach a couple times hole there. |

Posted - 08/05/2013 : 6:13:10 PM We spent last week at Apollo and Wednesday they did a controlled burn at the park so we drove down to Playalinda for the day.
I was pleasantly surprised, Playalinda was much different from the last time we were there. Totally different crowd, more couples, even younger couples and not as many creepy old guys. The girls even got to play goo goo faces to a three month old that a young couple came in with. All the No Nudity signs that Brevard County had put up years ago were taken down which gave everything a much easier feel to the place. The nude section has extended far down towards the lot 12 beach and people were not even getting dressed till the top of the lot 13 board walk, well insight of the parking lot, as a matter of fact we could see naked people from the parking lot when we got there. We saw turtle watch and rangers ride by several times that day with a very pleasant attitude, even rode by to give a 30 minute warning before the park closed.
Only conns I could see was the beach was very steep and soft with a ledge a few feet into the water that made entering and exiting the water dangerous. Thought we were going to have to play Life Guard to an old gentleman that got knocked down by a wave try to get out of the water.
I must say I have a different opinion of Playalinda now, the place is doing well and has much improved.

Posted - 07/19/2012 : 04:53:17 AM Cute little fellow now isn't he. Reminds me of last winter at Apollo when I felt something crawling on my leg and looking up it was a sand crab. I think I was laying over his front door maybe. |

Posted - 07/15/2012 : 10:39:11 PM that's true waterboy you have the creeps even at Apollo. One thing I have noticed is that when kids are around they bring out a lot more ssmiles in everyone and everyone is on their best behaviour too.

Posted - 07/14/2012 : 9:12:22 PM Thank you all. Apollo sounds like the one ... how is Haulover for kids? Apollo sounds more family friendly. Gunnison has a nice family atmosphere except for the occasional creep, but I guess you have that everywhere. |
