Posted - 11/09/2003 : 5:59:03 PM I've seen nude photos on many nudism sites and I'm still living in quandry-land about it all: how do you differentiate between a nude photo and porn photos? Do a lot of nudists take nude photos and allow nude photos to be taken of them? What do you do with the photos? I've had many people- ok, men- who are (or claim to be) nudists ask for nude photos of me. To me this is more sexual than let's-get-to-know-one-another. Am I being oversensitive? Now that I have a digital camera I COULD have nude photos of me.... but do I want to? And what would I do with them if I had them? Any insights about the whole photo thing would be appreciated.
Melissa

Posted - 03/04/2012 : 5:11:36 PM About ten years ago I took some (film) photos of me at a nudist resort. I took them to a photo shop. I told the woman who would develop the film that they included non-pornographic nude photos of me. That, I didn't care what company policy was but if she objected I would not complain and go elsewhere. Her call. She accepted. So a short while later I received a call from some male demanding I keep my clothes on. I admit I was angry at the call and told him to buzz off. I went back to the woman told her it had been her call and was disappointed in her.

Posted - 07/09/2010 : 10:59:22 AM Very idealistic, Natural One. One fact of life is that almost no one is interested in photos of naked men. Women, on the other hand, are a hot ticket—if you've noticed. I personally know a nudist woman whose photos ended up on porn sites. Not exactly what you want for your career. And while I love nude photography, women especially, have to be careful about such things. Too many people out there willing to exploit. I hope we reach a point someday that if a prospective employer does a google search on someone and finds a bunch of nude photos, it has zero impact on whether they will be hired. I don't think we are there yet.

Posted - 07/08/2010 : 12:18:58 AM I have a bunch of pictures out there and it seems most people here are ashamed of something. To me if someone sees me in a nude picture, they are also somehow connected with nudism. (Why are you here?) What is your hangup? What did I do wrong? I really do think the human body is a thing of beauty. Is this a naturist site, or a blog for prudes? Come on people "let it all hang out". I understand how people want to stay private. We should all try hard to protect the things we have worked so hard for, but where do we as nudists draw the line? Do I need to get my magic marker out and do some spring cleaning? Tell me I am wrong and I will go and put some clothes on. (Not!)

Posted - 01/23/2010 : 4:29:33 PM Years ago I took a few photos of my girls nude. Thanks to digital cameras you don't have to worry about the folks at Wal-mart, CVS etc. I do have a nude photo of myself on ipernity.com (like flickr, mostly in Europe). It is from the AANR skinny-dip back in July. I think you can link to it from the link below my sig.

Posted - 01/23/2010 : 11:51:21 AM I have a few nude photo's of myself taken by friends i know i can trust. And i share them freely on sites like this one. There are some sites i do not share them with anyone. You are wise, if your not sure how you feel then keep any nude photo's of you to yourself. Better safe than sorry. And yes never give any nude photo's to someone you've just met no matter who they are. Your Nudist friends know how you feel. |

I belong to a number of yahoo nudist groups and I find some of them have pics that have been posted by men of their 'privates' and nothing else and I feel that is innapproriate. People who emphisize on their 'privates' and not on the freedom nudism brings makes me believe they are there for the wrong reasons.

"If God meant for us to be nude, we would have been born that way."
I agree that that.We use a digital camera and have been using for 9yrs for use to take pics anything from birthdays, thanksgivng, xmas, new year including those events being in the nude, just at home having a good time.We started to relay a way of taking pictures not having to take a place to have the pictures developed not after we heard a story from one of our friends 9yrs ago that ended up having many legal troubles, eventually leading this family to financial woes.Thankfully they won in court just 4 yrs ago after 5yrs of hell, for just taking pictures of wife and kids having a good time in the bathtub, etc..
It gets me to wonder when will America return to those "good ol days", and not be in this paranoia ignorant climate that equates nudity with sex, and pedophilia. |

Posted - 11/25/2009 : 6:01:28 PM I agree also and most everyone that has an issue with taking photos of them nude, has nothing to do with the porn issue, its they're afraid they will end up in the wrong hands.
We had a friend that had never allowed any nude photo of her at the beach before, pose with all of us in a group photo. It was such a surprise to her husband that she agreed. They really enjoyed the photo after I emailed it to them, It was a great shot of us all relaxing on the beach.

Its great to see such a relaxed approach to nude photography and it is all in the moment. If its not exploitive and simply people relaxing and enjoying themselves sans clothes as we all like to do what is the issue.
The question about what is pornography is totally different as it has sexual or power / control type overtones in my opinion. Most of the comments here seem to relatwe to people enjoying the freedom of nudism porn has nothing to do with that.

Posted - 11/10/2009 : 10:38:25 PM Most all our nudist friends along with us, carry a camera with us. We took a group photo at the nude beach of all our friends this summer. One of the ladies surprised her husband when she agreed to be in it, cause she had never agreed to have a nude photo taken out like that. It was not porn or she or any of the ladies would not have let it be taken.
It was just a rememberance of a great day with great friends.

Posted - 11/07/2009 : 09:12:48 AM I just returned from Italy where I enjoyed the art and culture of that wonderful country. Did you know Michelangelo was asked by one Pope to paint trousers on some of his models on the Sistine chapel? Today we would think that request absurd. There is very little or perhaps nothing that is evil or wrong, except for how it makes you think.
To gain confidence I always heard: "Imagine the person sitting in his underwear." Funny, I had nothing on at all. |

Posted - 09/17/2009 : 02:22:35 AM Photos of nudes are not porn if they are not sexually exploitative, or degrading by averages standards.
Legitimate nude photos are those which are harmonious with the same essence of photos of clothed people. They are more light-hearted, can be artistic, or mimic clothed family photos.
Pictures of me are borderline, even with the highest standard applied to the overall appearance.
