I live in a normal subdivision in Tampa FL. I enjoy being nude whenever I am out back whether I'm swimming in the pool, sunning or doing yard work. I have a 6' tall privacy fence that encloses the perimeter of my backyard. There are neighbors on all sides of me, but they would all have to work hard at peering over the fence in order to see me in the nude. Do I have anything to worry about legaly if someone did see me or my girlfriend in the nude under these circumstances? |

There are comments elsewhere on the site I think about being nude around your own home and seen by others. Think the legality seems to vary from State to State.
I'm naked in my yard most days and it's a private space, but I do make the effort to avoid being seen by others if possible. If you are not flaunting yourself I think it's not an issue but I'm not a lawyer. |

I have attempted to make our place a safe place to be nude in over the years but my wife is concerned that someone may come up our drive way and see me! While I did keep shorts close by that did not curtail her fears! I have let the brush grow up around the property line about 20' to give me a good barrier. Being that we are on a dead end street, there is little vehicle traffic. The closest house is about 500' away and most of the year with the leaves, there is good cover. So now, if I want outside nude time, it is either at a camp spot about 100 miles from home, or hiking one of the trails that again are 100-150 miles from home our at our friends place. Their place is off the beaten path, has a long drive way that could be a pain to drive on and lots of trees. Hope to get in more outside nude time this next summer. My hat is off to those that can enjoy nude time at their homes! |

I'm naked in my backyard often and consider it my personal space to enjoy how I please, my domain, free to use how I please. Most here I'm guessing have a similar view.
We have full screening from one neighbour and reasonable screening for the other. We have only two at the moment but land out the back is being developed so soon we will have two more neighbours. It was paddocks previously and I had planted out screening type plants on one side but have intermittent gaps on the other. It does bother me a little that we may have no input to ask for privacy from any 2 storey houses proposed on either side.
I've planted more screening plants on the remaining side but they are taking some time to establish root systems and really grow. Fingers crossed about the height of the adjacent houses and plenty of water for the plants over summer I think. |

Update on our next door neighbors ...
A week ago, we visited the local winery that we are wine club members of. The winery has quarterly wine club member parties where you pick up your wine shipment, have dinner and wine, live entertainment and socializing with friends, winery staff and the owners.
We've seen our neighbors there a few times and saw them this last club party. As I was in line for dessert, our female neighbor saw me and waved as though I was her best friend that she hadn't seen for a long time! She jumped up and gave me a hug, asked where my wife was and began talking as though we'd been the best of friends.
It could have been a bit of wine she had to drink but either way, it gave me the sense that they've come to grips with the fact that they live next door to people that don't wear clothes and are still really nice people and good neighbors. Our nudity outside has been minimal because it's been so cold here. Aside from our nightly hot tub time, that's about the only outside nudity my wife has participated in and my sprints to the work shop and very short periods of wondering the backyard, are the only nudity we've exposed them to within the last couple weeks.
I hope it warms up. I don't want them getting used to us not being naked back there!

We have several two story homes surrounding us. We are most concerned with our next door neighbors but they've lived there a few years now. They are still cordial and friendly toward us but seem to keep to themselves quite a bit.
The other two story homes may have seen me/us naked in the backyard but I suspect that they either don't care, have called the cops but the cops asked ... "what is/are he/she/they doing?" When they tell them we're doing yard work, playing on our artificial putting green or walking back and forth to the trash bins, cleaning our backyard ... the cops must not care of be concerned.
We also live in CA, Southern Cal and I've looked everywhere for laws being more specific than the one FullSun speaks of and I've found nothing. I suspect that is why we've been able to live the way we do and we've never been approached by the cops or our neighbors.

I have two two story homes overlooking my backyard but years ago we talked to the neighbors and told them we are not very modest and they may see us. I am out in the backyard in full view of their houses at least once a day talking care of our pool, sunning, etc. They do not care and I have checked the local laws, indecent exposure requires being nude AND lewd here. I think most of the issues that nudists have and are afraid of are self inflicted or have to do with the local culture. I really believe the most people do not care as long as you are just going about normal life and not being lewd. Of course there is also being respectful of neighbors. There are also others that freak out and local cultures that are a lot more restrictive but that just goes back to the vocal minority driving the way people live. |

I have a better setup to use my deck for sunning this year. Still can't walk around but once I lay down, I can take the shorts off. I have to set it up every time I want to use it and the neighbors are probably wondering what I'm doing, but no one has asked yet. I hope they do...good way to get the conversation going about Nude sunbathing. |

Nice to see this post active again. I happen to have very busy body neighbors and they can see into my large backyard through some openings in the shrubbery that just don't seem to fill in. My back door is in clear view to my rear neighbor, but I do go out naked to put garbage in the cans and to get to my protected spot. The covenants require that boats and RVs be behind a 6' fence. I have a large area that I can lay out in the sun or work on my boat or my antique camper. Things could be worse. |

Thank goodness for an enclosed deck with tinted sliders! Living in a neighborhood it's the perfect way to be outside without clothes. Of course it has to be warm and wife also enjoys the set up. Wall mounted TV and dining area makes for great mornings and evenings together. Would be nice to enjoy more freedom but thankful for what we have! |

We live in 'South Central', in the Palmer area. Yes there are a couple trails that I can use, mostly during the work week. There seems to be fewer people then, which suits me just fine. There are also a couple places that we can take the motor home, that is visited by few people. I have been able to sit outside at some of these places and relax in the nude and not be bothered.

Yes there some places that their are few people and I do get to enjoy being nude. I just would like to be able to be nude at home, outside more.
As far as the picture of you, how much insect repellant did you have on?

Here is a photo of my naked adventures in Alaska. This is the Dalton highway a few miles south of Deadhorse.
I'm sure you can find fun places to go naked in Alaska. There is so much land and so few people.
