I know driving a car nude may not sit to kindly with the law or other motorists. What does anybody feel the legality of patial dress. I like to wear mens style silk underwear. To me it would be no different than wearing a speedo swimming suit. What if I was caught driving with them on. They are not see through. Am I legal?

Yep, I often wondered what determines the difference between Speedos and bikini briefs, Bikini bottoms and panties, bras and bikini tops. If we could get that line of difference eliminated we could be in public with undergarments. Now that's a good compromise to being naked in public. Right?

most state laws refer to your private parts being offensive in public, i never understood the car thing cause your really not in public your in your car, but getting back to the silk boxers if someone complained seeing you - and yes i don't know how they could but if you were stopped some local laws could possibly charge you with disorderly conduct - yes a judge would throw it out in a second but it could originally get you a ticket or ride to jail. and yes the cop would have to be a real a-s but it happens. but i wouldn't worry about it.

I experimented with nude driving some years ago, on and off during a 12-hour long road trip from VA to GA. I enjoyed some parts of it; but mostly, between having to scramble for my clothes whenever I needed to pull over, or having to acutely be conscious of my speed or passers-by, it was to me mostly an exercise in paranoia and a "clothes-off/clothes-on" juggling act. I haven't driven long distances nude since.

But that's not to say I think clothesfree driving can't be enjoyable. I think that if your destination is nudist, driving there nude can add to the nudist experience. But, as Warmskin suggested, you have to consider it rationally. A friend of mine used to drive nude, or partially nude to her resort. But: she drove a Range Rover with tinted windows on a relatively quiet highway. She would untie and drop her sarong while driving, but kept it under her so that she could "wrap" herself quickly if she needed to; making the experience as "risk-free" as possible. My X (much to my surprise) actually emulated her on a couple of occasions, opting to just wear a sarong for trips to the resort. It was fairly practical because she could unwrap it in the car, just tie it around her chest or neck and wear it like an apron. Passers-by would have just thought she was wearing a strapless dress. By the time we hit the country road leading to the resort, the sarong would simply be untied, and she'd already be nude before we even reached the resort gates. I think she just occasionally enjoyed the fact that she could just walk out of the car already nude at the resort parking lot, not have to bother with the whole "undressing and dressing back up" routine with sweaty clothes and constrictive underwear. And if we'd just spent Saturday nude and were heading out to the resort on a Sunday, it gave her a feeling of "continuity"; of not really having had to wear clothes all week end long.

Unfortunately, we men do not have the fashion options that women have. Unless you're a Javanese warrior, driving in a pareo isn't exactly common. A tunic or oversized T-shirt will just make you look like you're bottomless. Getting your windows tinted is still probably the best option. If you have to pull over, you'll still have ample time to put your clothes back on unbeknownst to others.

The law has you covered on this topic. Anything for a lousy pun.

Do as you please, but first consider with a rational mind what the consequences might be,at worst. Also factor in what kind of vehicle you're driving. If you're driving a tall truck, you're safer. If you are driving a compact car, you're more at risk.

I've driven in the nude in the Sierra Nevada, where it is usually safe to do so, on the back roads. However, not always so. I got "caught" by a logging truck driver coming towards me on a narrow dirt road. Yes, I was nude the time, and yes, the driver got a good view. Looking back at it, is was funny. He wasn't going to call the cops. Even if he were, he was out of range at that time. I knew what my risk was, and that realization of what the worst case scenario, was definitely helped.

Did a bit of naked driving today! I've been driving completely naked for well over 15 years or more!

Co workers used to shake their heads when I'd show up for work in a hawaiian shirt, shorts and flip flops and it was cold and raining. It just made it easier to put on when I got to work!

I always walked out to the garage naked, got in my high profile truck with dark tinted windows and drove to and from work that way. I enjoyed it so much...it almost became common place on a daily basis but after a while it became a pain to try and get dressed in pants, shoes, socks ... etc when the time called for full dress so ... I limited my naked driving to when I could wear short and shirt and flip flops.

ALL our trips to the nude beach and to the club are done naked ... there and back!

High profile truck with dark tinted windows makes it possible to do that.

I have been known to drive through downtown wearing only a unbuttoned shirt. If they see an open shirt, they never even think you might otherwise be nude.

I got off work at midnight and was driving home nude last summer. I was not speeding, driving erratic or any thing else and suddenly I saw the familiar flashing red and blue lights behind me. I quickly tried to pull my shorts up but was not quick enough, although I was for the most part covered. It turns out I had a burned out headlight, which I knew of when I left work, but did not have a spare to replace it. The policeman was very nice and only made the statement it seem "rather odd" that my shorts were not on the whole way. He did not go further and neither did I. He allowed me to continue my trip home without incident. He only wanted to see if I was aware I had a burned out headlight.

common sense would say....that if its covered..its legal..this is of course if anyone actually sees anything. as nudists..we are really not going nude to draw attention to ourselves...so we take precautions to prevent offending others. I know many on this forum will drive in the nude, have done so many times myself. be it a deserted streach of road, after dark, tall vehicles, etc, etc. unless you commit an infraction of the law, to warrent a stop by the police, they really do not have interest in checking to see if you are driving in the nude. its the complaints from others on the road, that will bring their attention. I have driven many, many miles, just sitting nude on a beach towel, and when traffic nears, and the potential of being seen nude, I simply cover myself with the towel, act as if nothing is wrong and mind my own business.
