My fiance and I are going to our first nudist resort and were wondering about taking a camera to capture our experience,will this be ok or not? |

Hey Fire,
I have seen you talking about young females setting up next to you guys like they have next to us. I just realized that means we are so old and harmless that they feel comfortable setting up next to us. LOL

I'm not sure why these policies haven't changed. It would seem that with the 40 something + people, taking over governing the clubs, managing the clubs and resorts trying to bring people in, instead of keeping them out, that more and more of these archiac policies would be taken off the books. It's a fact ... 20 somethings, 30 somethings, 40 somethings ... hell ... 60 somethings can't stay away from their phones or technology (iPads, smart phones,...) so why haven't these policies changed ...except maybe for the vocal minority. It is time for these owners, managers, boards and nudists ... to get over themselves and stop worrying so much about a naked picture of yourself being taken. There's probably a hell of a lot more information you're sharing on a facebook page! hahahahahaha
PS ... young females spending time on the nude beach used to be the norm as well at San Onofre. Probably more of them at Black's because of it's proximity to Univ.of CA San Diego but I think the gawkers steered some of them away and they ended up at San O. Not many nudes on the beach at San O as there was in the past.

That use to be the norm at Apollo but in the last few year we have seen more and more young singles and couples. Apollo is alive and well with the next generation taking their place.

Diger I have been to apollo too I would have actually been shocked to see 4 women in mid 20's in the nude there but last time I was there was maybe like 10 years ago. |

It was so funny last July when we were at Apollo, four young ladies (mid 20's) came down the beach and set up next to us. Cell phone signals are poor there so every few minutes one of the girls were up at the edge of the dunes holding their phone in the air trying to get connected.
This went on all day, it was soooo funny.

Which is why younger people stay away from resorts, and inhabit the beaches. Tell a 20-something they can't have their cell phone 27/7, and they're gone. |

I gotta tell ya ... I hate it when people answer their cell phones and have their conversation right next to me and then act as if I'm invading their privacy. SO ... when the cell phone rings ... and I'm on the pool deck, I answer it and leave the pool deck. I try and find a place where I can have my conversation in private and not bother anyone else. I don' much care for all this "connection" nowadays BUT ... it definately has it rewards and an upside. I've been at the club and got a phone call from my daughter's regarding a sick grandchild and their inability to get off work, right away, and go get them and take them home or to the doctor. I was needed and was able to respond. Had my phone been in the car ... I would not have known this and would have felt like crap not being able to help my grandchild.
I've seen and heard people answer their phones and just carry on their private conversation on the pool deck and when told ... "you're not suppose to use your cell phone around the pool area," they just look at your and then ignore you. I've only once gone to call the front office and told them of the person. I could care less if he was on the phone but he was talking loud enough ... he didn't need a phone for the other person on the other end to hear him. All these electronic devices have cameras and in my opinion ... if you're really afraid of someone seeing a picture of you naked, taken by someone on the pool deck ... maybe you should stay away from these places and stay off these nudist websites. Cuz ... you're information's out there already ... and it's probably more information than you think and a picture is the least of your worries.

I'm glad they changed their policy to reflect the times (EVERY computer, ipad, ipod, etc. has a camera nowadays). I almost got thrown out of the place for taking a CALL at the pool. I was told "NO cell phones at the pool." When I looked at the sign, it said: "Please refrain from using cell phones."

This policy has obviously changed. On our first and only visit, so far, we asked someone to take pictures of us near the lake. I was told to bring the camera to the office.
My wife and I signed a form, the manager looked over our camera and then the office staff tagged our camera and reiterated the rules and let us go and take pictures as we pleased.
As I stated ... I really don't want other people in our pictures unless we know them. I don't mind the distant nude in the frame but I like them distant enough that you can't even tell if they are male or female.
We used to take our camera to the beach all the time and we took pictures of each other, our girls and our grandkids all enjoying the nude beach. While taking pics, a regular came up and asked if we wanted a family pic, we said "yes" and we have a pic of all of us naked on the beach with the exception of grandchild #5 (who wasn't born yet) and our son in laws.

I always take a camera to the beach and will ask others to take my picture and have been asked the same favor many times - why not it's a vacation and don't you take pictures on vacation ?
I will take far distant pictures of others sometimes - you can only make out a nude figure just to show it is a nude beach but mainly i will do like at a textile beach and take pictures of the birds, sharks and sand. |

Last time I visited my nude beach I had my camera with me in my bag, never brought it out unless I asked another beach visitor to take some nudes of me for me with scenery only in background but not other nudists, most often when it is done like that most do not mind seeing the camera on the beach. I had a woman take a few of me in the water and we walked up the trail a bit to the beach sign and took one of me up there, she only did it due to she was leaving anyway up the trail. |

My club, Laguna Del Sol, not only bans cameras, but you are not allowed to use a cell phone inside the pool areas. With so many of them having cameras these days, there isn't a good way to selectively ban them.

Just don't bring a tripod, large light reflectors, and a group of photo experts along to a nudist place. Come to think of it, leave your camera gear and swimsuit at home, and just bring yourself, a spouse, friend, in-laws, a towel, lunch, and sun-screen if you need it. The experience of being socially nude can be remembered quite nicely without accessories.
