Posted - 05/24/2008 : 04:15:05 AM This was an odd thought that occurred to me as I'm trying to get to sleep. I once had a Jesuit monk reveal to me (at 90 years of age in the late 80's) that he and his friends were once "turned on" by seeing a woman's ankle. I've also heard that in societies where people cover up excessively, the littlest revelation provokes a similar response (the shape of a nose through a veil, etc.).
This may be something people won't respond to, because it's kind of intimidating. I don't want to make people uncomfortable, so I'll be fine if this thread dies. Don't answer if it's too revealing.
But as a nudist, have you ever felt "naked" around other nudists? And by that I mean in the emotional exposed/vulnerable sense? In other words, in an environment where people generally don't judge people physically, have you ever wondered if they would judge you for something else?
Basically what it boils down to is a funny thought I had on the balcony a few moments ago: "Do nudists ever have the nightmare about showing up to class naked?" But on a more serious tone, are you ever uncomfortable around other nudists, or do you feel more trusting around them than your textile friends?
Not a big concern of mine, but it's keeping me awake (mainly because I don't think I'm asking the right question, so if you know how to phrase it please pipe in), and I have a photo shoot in 5 hours. |

Posted - 01/09/2024 : 7:14:49 PM I typically don't unless I'm "caught" naked off-guard by a non-nudist in a non-nudist setting. And that's very rare.
My wife does when she feels there's "too many eyes" on her. A couples of years ago, she found herself standing in front of a group of about 8-10 nudist friends and strangers to talk about our Eurotrip. She hadn't intended too; it was a friend of ours who "dragged her" out in front of everyone to relate our adventures in the South of France. My wife afterwards said that she had never felt so "naked." It was because she was the center of attention; and it made her self-conscious.

I do feel uncomfortable and vulnerable whenever i get inadvertently aroused (erections for the adults). It doesnt happen often but sometimes it does, and im afraid that i might get black-marked or something if someone at the resort notices...that and i feel im making the ladies very uncomfortable (if i ever see any of them) |

Posted - 04/09/2010 : 10:06:49 PM DEFINITELY "naked" without my glasses - in fact completely dysfunctional!! I'm one of those people who need glasses to FIND their glasses! (Fortunately for me the Mrs has excellent eyesight AND memory - for when I forgot where I left them last!)

I've done that...but on purpose! LOL
Actually...I didn't leave my clothes on the beach...I just bundled them up and carried them to the jeep...then drove off!

I'm sure you will understand this as we share this trait. I'm naked without my glasses.

Posted - 03/29/2010 : 10:15:43 AM I don't think I've felt that nude or naked were two separate things, feelings or definitions.
I seem to use them interchangibly with nudists and non nudists. I don't think naked is anymore..."naughty" nor does it have a more "sexual" connotation... than nude is...they both mean the same to me.

Posted - 03/29/2010 : 01:12:11 AM A friend of my wife & mine invited me over to go swimming in her pool. When I got there I realized I forgot my swim trunks. I asked her if I can go nude in her pool & it wouldn't bother me because I'm a nudist. She said that's fine with her. But her neighbor came by unannounced & saw me lounging around naked. I didn't know how she would react. At first I was naked & explained to her what happened. Then she took her top off & we talked about nudity. Then I was nude. |

Posted - 11/11/2009 : 5:00:03 PM I feel naked when I have to wear my clothes. People find out what poor taste I have in clothing. Now that is really being naked.

Posted - 11/11/2009 : 07:51:53 AM I'm the male half of a "Nude Sun Couple." My wife and I have been practicing nudists since before we were married back in he 60's, and we still live the nudist lifestyle here in South Florida. I can honestly say the only time I felt (or feel) "naked" is when I wore a swimsuit "pouch" from Koalaswim. It's not a thong, not a T-back; it's just a pouch that holds all of the necessary male parts. (I had the crazy idea that it might be good for the times non-nudist visitors come over.) For some strange reason, when I finally got into it the contraption, it made the rest of my body feel much more "naked." I'll just stay completely nude, thank you. |
