There was a good suggestion for an "off topic" topic, where the Admin won't gripe at you for ignoring the subject!
And so, drum roll please, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! In this thread, and this thread only, it matters not what the subject is, nor if there was a subject in the first place. So, what's new with you?

Posted - 08/13/2005 : 10:39:07 PM Thanks!
I simply wasn't paying as much attention as I should have when I was there. I had considered getting sunscreen before I went, but thought... no, I don't stay in the sun long. Bad move!
As it turned out, I spent Saturday with a friend and her kids, so I didn't go anyway.
I'm trying to make some contacts on a nudist singles site, so maybe I can find a friend to go also!

Posted - 08/13/2005 : 10:11:50 AM Mr. Curious, Newbies and day trippers seem to take a beating of from the sun. Not knowing many, and your concern of approaching women gives me the picture your stuck at the pool minding your own bussiness. Especially with intence heat the pool is a must. When we found the new family of nudisum we took it hook, line...per se. If you've the cash flow, and a place that you've found that has sites to put trailers on and ride golf carts thats the way to go. I understand dedicating so much while single. But it gives one more options not to just be nude for the sun. It's a new social family. ...of how you look pealing...we've all been there. Learn not to burn bud, ya look silly scratching

Last week, I was at a nearby resort as a day guest, and enjoyed the time there. However, one of the problems I had was... I stayed out too long and sunburned. BAD sunburn.
It has reached that point in sunburns where the skin is peeling, and I am unsure... should I stay away from another visit today, or is it okay to visit, just stay out of the water?
I haven't really made any friends there, but I enjoy feeling like I am around people, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Being single, I am not approaching women, and don't really have much to say to the men.
So... should I stay or should I go, since I am peeling and it is unsightly...
If you do decide to go,WEAR A 45 SUNSCREEN and REAPPLY EVERY HALF HR. (yes, I'm yelling). Before you go into the pool or hot tub, take a soap shower. Keep putting on lotion to help reduce the peeling. If you do ever get burned, if you go into a hot tub, the heat will take out the burn. Continue to lather on lots of lotion; it does help with the peeling.
You can try to stay in the shade as well, but keep putting ON THE SUNSCREEN.

Ah but we Southerners love our heat Melissa. For instance, I love going from my air conditioned car to my air conditioned office and back to my air conditioned home where I keep it 72 degrees all year. I love hot weather, I could watch it on TV all day.
What is interesting, is that I can go to the club on a 98 degree day and feel perfectly comfy, not hot all and yet when we took the grandson to Sea World in San Antonio, I darn near passed out from heat exhaustion. Go figure. Just a few inches of cloth makes the difference.
Take care and ... Keep it Bare !!! - veal http://www.vealj.com/naturist.html |

Today, for the second day in a row and with 2 more coming, the heat index is in the 100's, I'm nude at home with fans on and STILL sweating viciously. So, to all you southerners, could you work on keeping your hot temperatures to yourselves. I know sharing is caring, but this is getting a little ridiculous. You know it's bad when I'm willing to put clothes on (yes, you read that right- I'm getting dressed!) to go to the air conditioned library for the duration of the day. Let's work on not sharing so much, ok southerners?

Melissa, I hate the 100s heat indices we've been having too in the Midlands of SC. However, I'll take the heat over the snow and ice any time.

Posted - 08/07/2005 : 7:25:45 PM This ia a true story of a series of incidents containing male-onlt public nudity in an exotic location. It doesn't quite fit anywhere else that I can see.
"A Shower Scene."
In late 1970, I had a year-long tropical "vacation". Actually, I was a member of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, out in the jungle in the free part of Viet Nam.
While much of my work was at base camps that had some amenities, I did get out into the field at times, and saw some combat.
At "lagers," temporary fortified camp positions, sometimes just occupied for one nite or day, things were truly "roughing it," and no infrastructure was attempted for comforts.
But, during the Monsoon Season. the rain was often so punctual that you could set your clock by it, and be right within a few minutes.
At my location, very heavy rain would begin anywhere from 3:50 or so, to about 4:10, without fail, for several months.
A few minutes ahead of this, guys would start to strip and stand naked, just waiting. . . . When it did start, always in great torrents, everyone would just whip out the soap and start scrubbing away.
The rain was usually a bit on the cool side, but usually well within tolerable limits. In such an event, towels were useless, as every item outside the "tracks" was deluged.
This would be a great scene to recreate for some future Hollywood movie, but it really did happen on a daily basis.
But hey, it worked.

Posted - 08/02/2005 : 4:36:02 PM Susan Weaver was there and told us she was president of AANR-East. I'm not sure who the other Grand Poo-bahs are, though. Not me.... yet?

Posted - 08/02/2005 : 11:32:43 AM No danger at all. We had plenty of adults supervising and no one was ever alone- there was always at least one child and a male and female adult with the child/children. It couldn't have been more safe. Sure, the camp had some difficulties that needed to be nailed out, but none nearly as bad as I've seen at clothed camps- and none that were sexual or had anything to do with nudism.

I had a great time getting to know the kids, hanging out in the pools, playing volleyball, throwing ice cream and pudding, and overall having a great time. I'd recommend that you all become a part of it- especially females, as we need more to help!- as it's so fun and fulfilling. Exhausting, but fun. (I think I slept around 12 hours today to make up for all of the missed sleep of the week.

So, I need to ask, is it as "dangerous" as the Virginia legislature makes it out to be? |

Posted - 08/01/2005 : 4:48:20 PM Perhaps so, Bill. I followed Cheri's advice and went to Serendipity, and next I will try Bell Acres. I did like the folks I met at Serendipity, even thought it was only a few.
I enjoyed the scenery there. I was completely comfortable being nude which surprised me. No nerves after I made the decision. |
