Posted - 05/17/2006 : 3:47:12 PM It's warm in Calgary now and I managed to spend a little time working in the yard nude on the weekend. ( I wore a sarong when I had to) . It was great to be out! Anyone else do the same? |

Bob, I ask that of myself each year. The cooler months are persistent, but summer is a short interlude.
Anyway, plant those Texas Privits to dramatically screen out neighbors, unless they're nudists, also. I planted some, water them quite well, and they grew to about 18 feet in a couple of years. Couldn't see the neighbors to save my life. Highly recommended. Nude gardening is a lead pipe cinch with those privits. Once you achieve that, you can garden in the nude till the gophers come home.

Posted - 11/11/2013 : 9:12:24 PM It's here in So Cal from about 10 am to about 4 pm. Temps are still up in the mid 80's but COLD (by So Cal nudists standards) in the mornings and at about 6-7 pm each night.
Hot tubs heating as I type!

Nude in AK |
Posted - 11/09/2013 : 10:35:01 AM I enjoy working in the garden nude. From the time that the ground thaws enough to rototill to when everything is out of the ground, I work in there nude. I feel good working outside with the sun and breeze on your skin. Also when you get a little dirty, it is real easy to take the watering hose and rinse off. We are lucky in that the closet neighbor is about 600' away and there are LOTS of trees and brush between them and us. The closet one knows that I work outside nude and has no issues with it. Great neighbors! |

Posted - 10/01/2013 : 2:40:43 PM Now that the weather has cooled down a little (less than 100), I can do some nude gardening. All except my front yard is private so I do not have a problem being nude around the house. |

Posted - 09/27/2013 : 2:50:14 PM Unfortunately, I live in an urban environment, so I had to resort to planting Bamboo screening on one side, and fast growing Viburnums on the other two sides for privacy. Now I can enjoy the back yard nudity w/o fear of gawking neighbors. |

Posted - 07/09/2013 : 9:58:13 PM Not necessarily gardening, but I've got a kids playhouse in my backyard (rather large, I'm 6'3" and I can stand up in it). It's getting run down and never used any more, except I was using it for storage in the winter. So since I'm moving next month, I decided to take it apart to toss in the trash. I did it all completely naked too. My first real time spent outside this year. |

Posted - 07/09/2013 : 08:39:41 AM Actually Warm ... I think it's something else. Maybe ... too much water? Other privets in the same area seem to do just fine and grow at a much faster rate.
I actually decided to plant privets along our wall to add to our privacy because I had seen mature privets as a privacy hedge at Disneyland. We have 9 privets strategically placed and a few of them are growing well enough but the others are not and I wonder what's causing them to grow so slowly.
I guess I'll keep feeding them shrub food!

Uh-oh, FP. Hmm, I bought green leaf privets, watered them generously while they were growing, and then once full-grown, I stopped watering them.
I'm not sure of the Latin name of your privets. Or, should I say, I'm not privvy to your privets' name.
Maybe they do better up here to the north of you. Hard to say.

Posted - 06/26/2013 : 09:54:31 AM I own,or rather the bank and government own, 10 acres with fields on two sides woods in the back and a neighbor on he other. For a qiuck fence this year I put up fence panels and planted pole beans on them. Now I don't have to worry about the neighborsseeing me gardening in the nude. |

Texas privets are one of the fastest growing shrubs I know of. They go up to 15 feet or a little beyond, and they're in a hurry to get tall after you plant them. I did that at a house I owned once, because two-story homes were built close to my backyard, and I was on lots of display. Went to a horticulturalist and was told about the privets. In two years the shrubs completely blocked out the sight of those houses.
After they've grown to full height, it's your sworn duty to garden in the nude.

Posted - 05/27/2013 : 10:54:48 AM As much as I can't wait to move back to the states in August, unfortunately I'm giving up my naked time in the backyard. I'm moving into an apartment. Now it's not an apartment building, it's my friend's family business and there are two apartments upstairs...my buddy lives in the one, I'll be living in the other. There is a yard, but no privacy whatsoever. On the one side is City Hall, business across the street and to the other side. There is an upstairs porch off of my buddies apartment that I will have access to, that is somewhat private from the trees out front, but I won't be able to get any sun out there since it's a covered porch. And during the day, right next door on the opposite side of City Hall, is a doctors office and their windows look right onto the porch. So if I want to sit out there naked during the day, I'll have to lower the blinds to block their view. |
