Sitting here on the computer, watching AMC, and drinking coffee makes me miss the mornings at camp. Nothing like sitting on the deck, watching the sun rise, listenning to the birds, and watching the humming birds at the feeder.

Friends coming over as the sun starts rising further to talk over coffee.

Man I start missing camp when it's chilly out.

Just your average mallard.

Actually, you could go to Tahoe in the winter, and if you went nude there right now, you could be automatically inducted into the Polar Bear Club, or would that be the Polar Bare Club. I don't know what joining them would give you in bennies, though. Go up to Tahoe and dive right in, tomorrow. On the other hand, you might want to hold off till next July.

My family was quite elated to see me getting off the aircraft

As well they should ... what a joyous moment that must have been for you, Warmskin.

Yah, I'll wait till next summer for Tahoe :)

You are very fortunate, Carole, to have had those events in your life. They could easily bring tears to your eyes in remembering them. I did come home from a one-year tour overseas, where I was in a war zone. My family was quite elated to see me getting off the aircraft as it parked itself near at the terminal. Many servicefolks never made it home, sadly. It was a cherished event for all family memories.

So, get out to those great southwestern nudist resorts, and flaunt your ability to go to one nearby in this winter season. No excuses!! LOL

The nudist Lake Tahoe beach is probably not where you would want to go to right now. It's cold!

Warmskin, I think being a military "brat" is a valuable experience for kids. You learned early how to make friends easily and how to make new kids feel welcome, for instance. You learned that because the next year, you might be the new kid yourself somewhere.

You learned to be self-reliant during the times your father was away, and to sympathize with other kids whose father was away. And while it's true those separations were hard to take, it was so joyous when he came home. When the ships come back into port, or in my case when my daddy's plane landed and we ran to greet him ... those are among the happiest moments of my childhood. I get very emotional now at those memories ...

I respect your growing up in the military, Carole. I met a lot of children when I went to social functions within my unit. They were lots of fun, and great kids to be around.

Now if only the military could have it's own nudist resorts in the southwest during the winter. I wonder if that would increase enlistments!

As far as being warm enough. Those of us in the colder climates may "gripe" about being to cold to go nude, and the winters...wonder how many would actually miss the winters. I think that we (my wife and I) appreciate the warmer weather that much more not having it year round, and probablly would miss winters (I know I miss the scenic winters of upstate NY then the ones we have in Kansas (though I don't miss driving in it so much). There are some aspects of warmer weather I will always miss during the winter, there's some things I actually like about winter.

i am one of them. i have a home in florida, which has a private backyard that i can enjoy being nude outside almost every day of the year, yet i chose to move back up to the cold weather because i missed it. granted, right now i would LOVE to be outside naked, but i love upstate new york so much more than florida. and i plan on doing tons of nude hiking this coming summer in vermont.

LOL Hannah ..

Yeah...winters up there are harsh...but also have their own version of fun to be had. The search for the 80 acres out in the middle of nowhere is on hold till the rugrat graduates school (t minus 6 years and counting). It's a trade off. May be in subdivision he...um..heck, but, excellent school district, and the commute is short for work (about 10 mins), so we'll suffer. Besides...GM is coming out with a convertable version of the new Camero in 2010...so have that to save my pennies for also.

Good for you, Buzzard. You're very lucky. I've read that vitamin D deficiency is related to a lot of things. And solar depression is no myth. Actually, that sounds like a good topic for a new post ...

Buzzard, I might stay here next summer, too. Or maybe spend some time up in Flagstaff, just to get out of the heat for a while. Are you in town? Do you have somewhere you guys can be bare?

You're pretty lucky then Honeysuckle. Wife and I have talked about getting some acres out in the country so we can have some privacy instead of being in subdivision heck, but...with a kid in school (and that school being one of the top rated ones in public education), and a semi short commute (about 15-20 mins), it's a trade off. Maybe when we retire (oh so many years from now).

As far as being warm enough. Those of us in the colder climates may "gripe" about being to cold to go nude, and the winters...wonder how many would actually miss the winters. Warmskin, I grew up in a military family, so I'm used to the idea of the military having good ideas :)
