Posted - 06/18/2009 : 5:00:38 PM What is the current status of available nudist spots in and around the Las Vegas area? Hubby and I are planning an anniversary trip next week. Spoke with some members of the Las Vegas Bares who said that they have to limit to private homes and such. Used to go to a nude beach on Lake Mead but that was a few years ago. Anyone with knowledge of whats out there now please let me know, been a while since we've been.

I'm booked at the Rio for Sept 15-22. I'm not upset they got rid of the Sapphire girls. But, for now the topless pool is closed. The only nude pool in Las Vegas I know of is at the Blue Moon (a male only, gay resort).
We spent one afternoon at the "Go Pool"at the Flamingo. They charge $10 for nonhotel guest men. While they have a bar it was not a loud or party place. Revamped joined they 5-6 other topless women. I wore an unlined Skinz bikini. All the other guys were wearing those long suits. We also spent a day at the Colorado river beach at Harrahs Laughlin and a few hours at the pool at Rio (Revamped kept her tiny triangle top on). Vegas is still hurting. A place with a chothing optional pool wouldn't hurt.

Posted - 08/03/2009 : 08:13:11 AM Adge- no more Roseanne ads, YEAH!! They laid off all the marketing people. The timeshares that were sold are still valid. Doubt they are worth much, though. I understand several project that are finished or nearly finnished are in bankruptcy, mostly condos.

Well, for one thing, Nudism might make it harder to have "a card up your sleeve."
Leave it to Balataf to come up with the solution to dishonest gambling. Yep, everybody get naked, including the dealers, and then honest card games will ensue. I like it! If you don't have a shirt on, you can't lose it.
Seriously, with all the vacant land outside Las Vegas, NV, you'd think that someone could buy some acreage and make a nude casino area. Palms Springs has that nearby. With my plan, when you land at Las Vegas, you'd take right off again -- your clothes.
Sigh. I know, I need to get better writers.

Posted - 08/02/2009 : 11:45:49 PM Thanks for the heads-up, Bob. If they've gone bust, maybe something like Tahiti Village or its sister Club de Soleil could be "re-purposed" by some savvy naturist investors!??? I am imagining a place with a faux-security setup at the entrance where, to enter paradise, all items of clothing are confiscated from guests' suitcases until departure. Gotta dream! I am still offering French gendarmes to belay the NV Gaming Control Board and Mayor's worries about anything but pristine behavior! Hope you have a good September holiday! |

Posted - 08/01/2009 : 7:20:28 PM Adge, Tahiti Village went broke (it was a time share). The NV Gaming Control Board as well as the Clark Co liquor board have been investigating problems at many clubs and "adult" pools. Thousands of jobs have been lost in Vegas due to the recession and comments made by Mr. Obama haven't helped. I read the Las Vegas paper almost every day (on line). www.lvrj.com

Posted - 08/01/2009 : 3:46:01 PM If you want to swim topless in Las Vegas I would suggest the adult pools at the Wynn Hotel or the Flamingo. They both have great facilities although on the day I was at the Wynn it was a bit crowded but a friendly crowd. There is a charge for men at both facilities, lady guests at the Flamingo were free but check with both hotels as this was last summer. |

Posted - 07/31/2009 : 10:38:41 PM Perhaps this is a wakeup on an opportunity for one of those resort hotel/casino places. I don't know if the Gaming Commission would go along with it, but .. .

Posted - 07/31/2009 : 8:45:41 PM What to do, what to do. Open up a nudist resort in Death Valley nearby Las Vegas? Lay on a lawnchair, or engage in a vigorous volleyball game in the 120 degree heat. Or start a nudist resort in Las Vegas, New Mexico? With all that desert and low population near Las Vegas, there could be a nudist resort.
I remember a joke on the Jack Benny Show. A bunch of nudists were walking around in Las Vegas. Nobody was alarmed about it. Mostly the Las Vegas folks were telling the nudists, "Better luck next time."

Posted - 07/31/2009 : 7:39:24 PM You'd think a place with a Las Vegas Strip would allow people to strip, duh! I was going to suggest a South Pacific themed resort for naturists, but then I discovered that even the Tahitian-themed Tahiti Village ignores both traditional and French-influenced naturist inclinations. Perhaps a "Vegas Eden" for post-debauchery cleansing or an "Cap d'Agde Vegas" theme park complete with French gendarmes??? If Vegas can't loosen up, what hope is there for America? I guess the mayor thinks naturists will would unfairly compete with showgirls...!??? |

Posted - 06/21/2009 : 09:13:22 AM Remember that Mr Goodman only controls the downtown area. Most of what people call Vegas is Clark Co. Not that they're anymore open minded. I'm pretty sure there are several half finished condo projects that would work.

Posted - 06/20/2009 : 8:46:30 PM We've heard that Mayor Oscar B. Goodman is adamantly opposed to establishing a nudist resort within the Las Vegas city limits. I recall when former - - owner Joe Lettelleir wanted to open a nudist resort in Vegas he was stonewalled from the get-go. Reasons for this are open to conjecture as there is certainly nudity at the decades old swing club, The Red Rooster east of town and partial nudity at the designated resort hotel pools around the Las Vegas strip.
It is possible that the hotel owners would rather the testosterone-filled twentysomething males pay a ridiculous surcharge for the privilege of siting poolside and quaff overpriced beer in order to see real live jiggling breasts. Certainly this demographic must account for 90% of the topless pool patronage once you subtract out Bridgett and Bambi, the centerfolds on vacation.

Posted - 06/19/2009 : 3:19:10 PM Those casinos that allow "topless" do not really do a thing for my husband or me. i dont want to get into the topless vs. nude thing. They are nowhere near the same. Most of the time "topless" venues are not catering to the right sort of crowd. I am surprised that Las Vegas doesnt have a large scale nudist resort.
