Posted - 10/27/2004 : 10:09:30 AM Hello,
My wife and I are vacationing in the Palm Springs area and are wondering what the resorts are like. We have read their websites and would really like some references.
Thanks, Mark |

Posted - 08/17/2017 : 01:57:03 AM Being that it caters to swingers, we would not have any first hand knowledge of the place. If that's what you're looking for, you should check it out but most here wouldn't.
Loves being naked. Plays well with others! |

Posted - 08/16/2017 : 11:08:11 PM Has anyone been to Sea Mountain Nude resort in palm springs? We were planning to go for new years but I'm getting mixed reviews and hoping to find someone who has gone recently and who has stayed overnight there. |

Here's our opinion of both places, please understand that we are a tad bias towards TCI just because we have a long history with that place and the people that work there, but have visited DS twice now and are planning many return day trips as well as weekend trips and probably a week there soon.
TCI: 17 rooms, a pool that can accommodate that many guests and a spa that will accommodate about 10 comfortably or 12 to 14 real cozy. There is really not a lot to do there except....relax. The owners usually have some soothing music they play over the grounds speakers. About half of the rooms have small patios out front of their doors with gas heaters overhead so you can enjoy cooler nights au natural if you'd like.
There is a covered patio with a BBQ, where pool side massages are given and in the evening you, or a group can use this room to BBQ and eat or eat in your room. There is no restaurant. For lunch the Inn has contracted with a local deli to provide lunch if you'd like for an additional charge. They mostly have sandwiches and salads. There is an ice machine and a soda machine and the office sells a small amount of clothing and ice cream, coffee is always being brewed.
Desert Shadows:
This is a much larger venue. Many, many rooms, hotel type and villas to rent. Three pools but I think the one across the street, need to cross the naked bridge to get there, is for those residents on that side of the complex and three spas close by each pool. A much larger boutique/store. A little more variety of items to purchase, clothing, etc.
This resort is upscale. The grounds are beautiful, meandering walkways, streams and rock waterfalls, neatly trimmed foliage. A full restaurant and bar. A spa with a wide variety of services. The main pool near the lobby is for social activity, water volleyball and such, about 50ft away near the covered jacuzzi and spa area is the "Guiet Pool". Nice place to relax in the sun without a lot of noise and people talking on their cell phones. Adjacent is a large grass area usually used for grass volleyball but it the net isn't up, you can move you lounge chairs to this area or lay out a blanket and sun on the grass.
DS is really a nice place. TCI is also nice but they really are two different kinds of places. TCI is more quiet and intimate, you will probably meet everyone staying there. We've met all our close nudist friends there and return each year at the same time to meet up with the same 12 people and stay for a week.
DS is more lively, always something going on, watervolley ball, someone having their body cast in plaster, groups of friends talking and eating together, tennis being played. There is lots to do or you can venture over to the quiet area and relax.
We are glad that we live so close to both all we have to do is ask each other what we feel like, quiet or activity and that decides whether we go to TCI or DS. The hard part is agreeing whether we want to be active or quiet! |

Posted - 10/27/2004 : 8:19:20 PM My wife and I have been to - - - twice in the last four years, and we can't wait to get back there again.
The weather is fantastic and the downtown Palm Springs with all the great restaurants you will really enjoy it.
Desert Shadows itself we believe to be the apex in Nudist Resorts!!
The owners and staff are fantastic, and you will never need for anything. The restaurant on the grounds is great. We at there several evenings, and then had a nice cordial by the hot tub. What a way to live!!

Any info we can help you with, let us know. |
