Posted - 02/23/2007 : 11:39:47 AM This is a beutiful place in Southern Vt just north of the boarder of MA. You can find it on most maps. I went there for a few hours after whitewater kayaking. It is a manmade lake due to a dam and it's nicknamed the 'Ledges' because of the flat rocks people lay on by the lake. There's parking. Right by the parking or those strange people who sunbath with there clothes on. You follow a trail I guess a 1/4 mile and you'll see the usaul sign, 'beyound this point you may encounter nude sunbathers'. Question: Anyone from the area know a good place to stay near there? I usaully camp in MA but this summer I want to bring my naked friends with me who do not usaully camp.

Posted - 08/14/2019 : 9:19:29 PM Better late than never I guess. My wife and I finally made it to The Ledges today. Only about an hour and a half away. Nice scenic drive to get there. The trail to get to the CO section was an easy hike but had to watch your footing. Once there the reservoir was beautiful and quiet with only about 6 people in the first beach section we came to. I could see a few other people on a higher rock outcropping and I’m assuming another beach section past where we stopped. We’ll have to check it out next time we go. The water was great...cool and refreshing. A little tricky to get out to deeper water due to all the rocks but the water was clear and you could navigate the obstacles without much effort. This is definitely a location that is worth more trips. We talked to a regular (his name was Al) and he said there would be more people on a weekend but that is to be expected. |

Posted - 04/05/2012 : 4:14:26 PM Is this place still CO? Some of the info I found online has some old dates associated with it. I haven't found anything current. Looks like a great place to check out...and only about an hour away from where I am when in NY. |

Posted - 05/12/2007 : 11:19:17 PM As far as directions go. Does this sound right anyone??
Directions: The northern end of Harriman can be accessed off route 9 in Wilmington through a series of pull off areas. To get to the southern end, follow route 9 out of Wilmington. At approximately .5 miles take route 100 south, after a mile watch for Wilmington Cross Road on your right. Take this road until reaching 100 south. Drive right for about 1 mile until reaching Harriman road on your right. Follow Harriman Road until reaching the parking lot.

Posted - 03/25/2007 : 6:41:16 PM The closest thing with a web site is Peppermint park(.net). I was able to determine the nearest town is Whitington, VT. Several state parks in southern VT. (VT.gov) Looks like at least 20 miles though.
