Beautiful day today at the Batterie Beach (Plage de la Batterie) near Cannes. Lots of sunshine (at last!), a steady cooling sea breeze, always 50 or so people as people arrived and left, and an even gender mix (both couples and singles). I don't know how people managed to be so tanned already! I was feeling distinctly pale, but still didn't scrimp on the high-octane sunscreen! The sandy beach is small (only about 30 meters wide) but it is so pleasant and convenient that people drop in, as I did, at lunchtime or between things. It is managed by the Club Horizon of Nice and, like today, there is usually somebody from the club sitting under the French Naturist Federation (FFN) banner. You get to it by driving along the seaside road from Cannes to Juan-les-Pins until you see the Shell Station, where there is a small parking lot and a pedestrian passage under the road to the beach. Not a big resort setting, but very friendly and handy for anybody living or travelling in the area.
