Wife hates her body. She has multiple spinal problems that causes her constant pain. Her hatred of her body started in high school in the mid 1980s when she was diagnosed with S-curve scoliosis and was forced to endure the turtle shell and taunts of fellow students. She's now 45 and is in worse condition. She's seen specialist who've stated she's beyond the help of surgery and so is on oxycodone, flexerile, and other medication. She was once prescribed oxycotin. The first pill she took was fantastic for her. Great pain relief without the drunken feeling. But then she began to experience an all over body twitching itch that lasted for more than an hour. Turns out it was a negative reaction to the one pain reliever that worked best for her. She'll lay in bed or the recliner, I'll get up and ask her if there's anything I can get for her while I'm up and she'll say "a new body" or "a saw to cut my head off my body". When out in public, she puts on a good show of being happy and bubbly. But once at home, she relaxes and let's the pain show. Because of her hatred for her body, she has no interest in going to nudist resorts. As much as I enjoy swimming and hiking nude, I love my wife more. Have any of you ever been in a relationship with a non-nudist? |

I think what Doc said is accurate. Your wife has a lot more on her mind other than nudity, although I suspect the warming rays of the sun (and the vitamin D) might actually help her at least somewhat. Best wishes...
Gnarly has a valid point. Marrying someone with the idea of changing them is never a good idea. This also holds true for many other things besides nudity. If you are a committed nudist, I think you should at the very least mention it during the dating process and study the reaction. A spouse who won't even consider it during the "honeymoon phase" is probably never going to go there.

She has that too along with nerve damage. I offer to give her massages but the nerve damage causes several places on her back to feel as if it went to sleep and the feeling was just coming back. I can't help her out the chair because pulling her could hurt. She's OK with me occasionally going around inside in the nude. Don't do it often because she keeps the home at 71 in the winter and 73 in the summer. She stays on a heating pad so she keeps the ac low. Because of where I live and the lack of quality places, I don't get to go bare often. |

Who you marry is a choice. The first date I arranged with my current wife was a picnic at at CO hot spring with some skinny dipping. Men need to get this straight right from the beginning. Waiting until after the wedding to negotiate nudity ends up feeling tied down and confined for the rest of your life.

The key phrase is "I love my wife more". Running around naked is great fun, but in the face of serious family issues it quickly becomes trivial.
And ... just a suggestion. Instead of "victim", why not "survivor"? |

Hey victimofgm, You just described my situation almost exactly. My dear wife has spinal stenosis and not the scoliosis. All the rest is all too familiar. Just love her anyway. Thankfully she tolerates me going out in the hills and woods for a nude hike occasionally. Hang in there and enjoy what you can. Best wishes. Herb |

There are many more guys out there with non nudist partners/a wife/a girlfriend ... then you can shake a stick at. It's actually not "rare" but it's certainly not uncommon for many women to either not get nudism or not want to understand it, deal with it or even talk about it. Finding a woman that is willing to discuss it, try it and enjoy it is certainly not impossible and there are many couples and single women that enjoy nudism. Some were born to it, others opened up to it quickly and others ... it took longer to become comfortable with it.
Sounds as though your wife has other things that occupy her mind and the last thing on her mind is becoming a nudist. That's completely understandable. She's dealing with pain daily. I have back issues and deal with pain daily but it sure sounds nothing like what your wife is dealing with and there are days I don't want to talk about what to eat. I can sympathize with her pain issues and not wanting to discuss being a nudist. She'd probably do or give ANYTHING to have a day ... pain free, that's what's important to her.
If she's fine with you practicing nudism, take what you can get and just do what you've been doing to try and make her day as comfortable and pain free as you can. Not much else should be done except to ensure her comfort with that.
