Posted - 08/31/2008 : 12:55:34 PM About 10 yrs ago I started following a spiritual path that is based on the power of nature and the earth. While on vacation a friend who also follows that path ivited me to a coven that he belongs to that practices their services in the nude. It was very relaxing and I felt like it brought me closer to nature. Has anyone else ever attended spiritual/religious services in the nude?

Posted - 06/28/2020 : 8:55:39 PM Like Melissa, my family and I have attended the church service at WhiteTail, and do so several times a year. It's low-key, but meaningful.

Posted - 09/28/2008 : 3:20:57 PM Remember our original state was nude. It was man's idea to wear clothing. God provided skins of animals to show his provision for us in the new hostile (cold, extreme heat, etc) environment. He created us nude; that's the way we were meant to be.

Also, when I was studying for my Bat Mitzvah over 11 years ago (never had the opportunity as a child), I led a sabbath service on a Friday night at Berkshire Vista...it was during an AANR Eastern Region convention. As I light the sabbath candles, the clouds parted and it was a signal that this was something right. I also led a nude sabbath service at Laguna del Sol about 11 yrs. ago. Cheri

Posted - 09/07/2008 : 7:08:28 PM Given the chance, I would probably feel the same thing about that kind of event as does Melissa. My own home-spun philosophy is that we have four components: mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional.
There is a great deal of the physical in nudism, and we share our feelings and thoughts in nudist social settings, so why not share a religious service, and revel in that as well. It just goes to show you that all aspects of life can be experienced in the nude, while keeping our decorum, joy, accomplishments, caring attitude, and reverence intact.

Posted - 09/07/2008 : 11:01:24 AM Cheri, I am fascinated by your comments in your posting of 1st September. In shul as long as I am wearing a kippah and my tallit I feel that I am fully dressed, respecting G-d. If I am ever in the position that you were in being able to attend a service nude I wouldd be totally at peace with the eternal one.. Shalom

Posted - 09/07/2008 : 09:15:07 AM If you have a belief in God it dose not really matter what you are or are not wearing. If your clubs don't offer services. Maybe you can start a service of some type with some friends. But getting dressed for an hour won't hurt if you really want to attend church and spend time with the Lord. God dose not care where you worship or if we are dressed or naked. |

Posted - 09/06/2008 : 8:19:37 PM I'm not a church-going man myself, but I believe I once had something very like a religious experience while nude. But that was 30 years ago, and I'm sure she's forgotten all about me by now ...

Posted - 09/06/2008 : 7:39:16 PM i stopped going to church years ago, so no, i never have. though i have been interested in paganism/witchcraft, and would love to attend one of those covens.
this does remind me though, there is a movie called "amazon women on the moon" that has a skit where a girl is sitting naked in church

Posted - 09/01/2008 : 7:16:06 PM I know White Tail Park has church services every Sunday for those who are interested in having a service in the nude. I've attended it and enjoyed it very much.

Posted - 09/01/2008 : 5:41:05 PM We don't attend church much anymore. Lots of reasons why but...if we were at a club or resort and they had services and my wife wanted to attend.....I'd participate. It would make it even better if we could do it nude.

Posted - 08/31/2008 : 3:01:35 PM Er ..... No !
However, the last spiritual service I attended was as an altarboy at a Catholic Mass and it wouldn't really have been appropriate.
