Hi, our first posting. We're a married couple, late forties, very attractive, professional, living in the Denver, Colorado area and have separately (we were married last fall) enjoyed clothing optional places in the past (he in Northern California, she in Southern Colorado) and have gotten to the point where we want to go to a nude resort, not a clothing optional where you have to put clothes on to go to the office, go to your car, go to dinner or an event, but one where you stay nude the entire time you're there.

Are there any such places within a two hour car ride from Denver?

Please post, thanks.

To Clarify; as stated we were asked to undress at our first nudist club visit, but we were not required to undress. We wanted to comply. It was a memorable experience, even though it was back in the 90's. That club allows first-timers to remain unclothed until later in the afternoon if they are not comfortable plunging right in to be nude immediately during a first visit. All newbies we have seen at landed clubs do eventually get completely nude at some point during the day. Never seen anyone "kicking & screaming" forced to get naked.

There have been some changes in policies of our club, since we've become members. I've not read all the minutes from board meetings but usually when there's a substancial change, someone usually posted it on the forum pages and then there was some discussion but the clubs forum was dumped when they redid the website.

It's certainly possible that changes have been made to allow tours to be done while clothed. IN that case, I would tell the "guests" that they would be given a tour but it would be a tour at a distance and not the up close and personal type the nude guests get.

Just like that one young man that we all saw take the tour clothed, then remained clothed around the pool watching everyone. That's not what this is about and I don't think we should be constantly changing "those" rules and policies for anyone. If you remain clothed ... then your tour will be of the facilities at a distance. If you're nude, then you'll get the $1.98 tour!

I don't get the idea that ... someone can come and take a tour of the place clothed and then thought that they will then say ... "yeah, this is for me, now I'll strip and be naked the rest of the day." If they aren't willing to get naked ... then they probably won't be staying anyway and don't have any intentions of participating or taking it seriously.

My 0.2 cents anyway!

There are a few exceptions; but many resorts allow the "cautious newbie" or the reluctant spouse some leniency in terms of taking the first tour nude. Some resorts also allow one partner to remain dressed as long as the other is nude.
The fact is: my then-reluctant spouse's stipulation for visiting a nudist resort for the first time was to not be requested to undress. Had she in fact been asked to be nude for the tour; she wouldn't have cried, but that would have been a very uncomfortable drive back home, as well as the end of social nudism for us as a couple.
Yet, in spite of her request to not feel forced to disrobe, she also could appreciate and have a respect for where she was, and what me and other people where there to do. I went nude; and she elected to change into a small sundress, leaving it mostly unbuttoned. That way she could feel covered; but in a minimal fashion.

But as opposed to my then-reluctant wife's reaction, there are new - and old(er) - nudists that feel no responsibility to at least "get halfway there." And that's when we have a disconnect between the nudist philosophy and what people actually do at nude resorts.

Our first time to a "Nudist Resort" we were asked by a nude host couple to get undressed for the walking tour. We were glad to undress because the nude part was the reason for our visit. Everyone there was nude. We would rather be at clubs where nude is the norm. The only exceptions at the clubs we attend are for weather conditions and for minors who do not wish to be nude. Don't undertand the clothing-optional resort concept.

years ago we got free passes to paridise lakes when we got there they took us on a tour in a golf cart - yes they were clothed and so were we even to the pool area. after the tour we got nude and enjoyed the pool but it just didn't feel like a nudist resort. after my divorce i visited a nudist camp in south georgia ran by a lady as i pulled up and parked she came up to welcome me she was nude and offered me a tour of her place so when i started to follow her she looked back and said i could join her nude, took a minute to join her but later that day i remembered that visit to the other club years earlier and was glad to be where i was that day - rustic nudist camps are a plus for me. nudist mean being nude and i really don't understand the clothed concept others have with the exception of the weather.

I believe this is the club where years ago my wife had to comfort a newbie woman who was crying because she HAD to be nude on the tour.

And I do remember many years ago when people working in the offices of various nudist resorts were mostly nude themselves. Nowadays it's all air conditioning and clothing.

I've seen many, many tours given and they have all been in the nude. I was surprised that they allowed these clothed people to take a tour. All I can tell ya is that many around the pool and in the recreation area/ctr, were NOT happy about it.

It use to be that they wouldn't give a tour until you were undressed. meeting you in the parking lot.
times have changed?

We spent the day at our club today. First day of the AANR West Festival. Lots of people and many more coming in as we were leaving around 5pm.

Several fully clothed regulars. Still don't get it but after a while ... I gave up letting it get my pulse rate up and just said ... "they are the ones that are missing out."

There was many tours. What I didn't get ... was a couple of people taking the tour were not nude. One woman was topless and had on jeans and her counterpart was fully clothed (a guy) but the tour guides were naked ... what was up with that!?

Another young man was given a tour and was clothed. Still don't understand that. He was allowed to stay but then took up residence by the double doors to the indoor pool and remained clothed looking at all the naked people. Didn't last long. I was in getting a magazine and some guy went into the hall and called the front office to rat this kid out. I wished he had just gone up to the kid and said ... "either get with the program or hit the road." I would have put in nicer but that's the point I would have gotten across. By the time I got out there, someone had already noticed him and told him to take his clothes off or leave. Must have been someone from the office, he was holding a handi talkie.

ON the upside. When we checked in ... lots of nude guests and residence in the front office conducting business. That was a welcome change. We WILL become Gold Seal members again but for now, it's not worth it to us. We're just not getting there as much as we'd like. Once my wife retires ... we'll go back to GS member and take the motorhome there more often. Right now ... grandkids and their sports involvement takes up lots of time.

At our club specifically, it really only makes sense to pay for the "gold seal" membership where you are issued a gate card and can come and go as you please, without ever really having to conduct business in the office. The only time we go in the office is to pay for a site to park the RV when we stay for a weekend and we are always nude. It sets a good example.. as well as...we like to be nude:)

As FP stated many club residents are in there clothed, getting their mail and such. I just don't get it. For a resident of a nudist resort getting "tired" of going nude, that makes no sense to me at all. You choose to LIVE at a nude resort, but get "tired" of being nude. So its not your way of life?..Anyway, all we can do is set an example going nude ourselves anywhere on the grounds and all the time.

Just to add to another short story, like Nudony's ...

We've noticed many of the residents and members slipping on something to go into the office for one reason or another. When we camped at our club for a few days, we felt like a bottle of wine and didn't want to leave the grounds so I walked down to the office and bought a bottle. Most of the office staff is dressed and dressed completely. I walked in, bought the wine, talked to a office staff worker, a young woman we've become friends with and then left. But it was strange to see so many residents going to get their mail but were covered or dressed ... as if they didn't want to confront anyone from the "outside" while nude. I still go into the office periodically to buy something and I'm nude. I've see a few others do this but there are many, many more that do not.

We have to stay dressed to check in. The visitor parking area is before you get inside the club. There are signs all over stating that nudity is not allowed beyond the gate. It was better when we paid for the BIG membership and had an electronic card to get through the gate ... but it was too expensive for the amount of time we actually were going.

But ... I WILL continue to visit the club office in the nude and hopefully, more people will follow suit.

I will concur; on all fronts, with FP.

I will only add this. When I was a family nudist resort-goer, I settled on one specific resort as our nudist home-base (BA). I noticed that most people would usually check-in the front office dressed, go to the pool area, find a seat and then undress. And before leaving, put all their clothes back on, and then exit the pool area.
One day, I asked the manager what the exact policy on where to be nude was. She thought about it for a second, and told us there really wasn't any policy on where to be nude beyond the front gate. It had just become customary for visitors/members to check in first and then undress. So I asked her if it was ok for us to just leave our clothes in the car and check in nude (NOA). She told us it would be unusual; but didn't see a problem with it.
Don't you know that we got some weird looks from other members when we started tossing our clothes in the trunk and walking through the parking lot to the front office nude! But then we started noticing some interesting things. New visitors would see us walking through the parking lot nude, and would start undressing before checking in. Some people would see us leaving the pool area nude, and then would stay nude to walk back to their car themselves. We didn't completely reverse the trend; but our NOA approach to being nude from the parking lot was noticed and affected enough people to make a difference.

This anecdote pretty much corroborates FP's point.
