Posted - 02/26/2006 : 01:55:52 AM One of my favorite activities when I visit my club is nude hiking, and this is an activity that the club fully supports and maintains most of the park just for those who are avid nude hikers.
Hidden River
The hiking trails are well maintained and well marked. Some of the trails lead down to the river and the "swimmin' hole". Others wind through the woods & forest, where all kinds of wildlife can be observed. The whole place is simply beautiful, has a small membership, and the most important thing to me, it's safe! You are able to hike and explore naked and never have to worry about running into other textiles or law enforcement officials, or God forbid, someone that might do or cause you harm. The Ocala National Forest is a favorite place for nudists to hike, but you run a high risk of encountering hunters in the woods and possibly getting shot at. A few months back, a couple camping out in the forest were found murdered. Not exactly the risk I am willing to assume to enjoy nude hiking. It's pretty obvious that a naked individual is not armed, and that puts one at a distinct diadvantage if confronted by some character in the woods. Most certainly, a situation I would never want to put my wife into.
But I feel entirely safe at Hidden River whenever I am nude hiking thru their woods. The owner of the park, I believe, is an ex-law enforcement offical, and is very careful about screening out undesirables who may try to get in.
Plus, this a great park for those who like to camp out, too. Not as many amenities as there are at most of the other parks in Florida, but I love the rustic undeveloped areas of the park, with many great campsites throughout. Just an all around great place to get away from civilization and really relax, and this is how I think the owner wished to maintain it.
I highly recommend it.

Posted - 09/27/2013 : 4:07:03 PM I have been to Big Bend National Park myself, but its been since the 70s. I was in high school at the time and not a practicing nudist. I definately can see the appeal though. It is Americas least visited National Park. If you love the desert along with desert mountains, gullies, canyons, etc., this is the park for you. Three buddies and I camped in one of the rustic campsites right on the Rio Grande River for a week. All afternoon after we got back from a long hike, we would run upstream through the hot sand, jump into the cool Rio and let it take us back to our camp. This place would be a wonderful to experience nude. Good call Bianca!

Posted - 09/27/2013 : 11:05:39 AM I enjoy anywhere outdoors(hiking or camping), anywhere where I do not offend non-nudists, but one place is Big Bend National Park in Texas where I've been to many times. There I've met other people who like to go nude at the Hot Springs along the Rio Grande. Some non nudists wear swimming suits but since it's such a remote place where one has to hike down a secluded trail to get to it, there is plenty of privacy for nudists during the off peak season in middle to late Summer. The Hot Springs is the perfect place to enjoy soaking in the mineral pool which is constantly fed by a spring which overflows into the Rio. |

Posted - 07/24/2013 : 10:44:45 AM I have walked nude for miles and hours virtualy undisturbed at False Cape State Park / Back Bay NWR. Its a beautifully desolate 9 mile stretch of virgin barrier island just south of the Sandbridge area of Virginia beach, VA. I only recall seeing one ranger checking turtle nests during all my many visits there. While nudity is not legal, it is so remote and deserted the further south you go, I dont forsee any issues. I have passed several clothed hikers, birders, fishermen and fisherwomen, etc. Ive gotten smiles more often than not. On the beach, you can see anyone else for at least a mile and its easy to get far enough away from textiles to hike nude pretty much all day. I hate when its time to go home. My all-over is looking good all over.

Posted - 06/06/2013 : 10:22:21 PM warmskin looks like you found the right place - outside the box, water , shade , friendly people and cheap.. nudist camps/clubs have gotten crazy with their prices my first membership back in the late 80's early 90's was $200. a year that same club is now at $600. and that is even cheap as alot are over a $1,000. a year. my solution till i find better one is a men's nudist camp at $8. for a day visit with all the amenities of the higher dollar camps. |

Posted - 06/02/2013 : 08:43:15 AM My favorite place to go nude is in SailawayBob's back yard.
Okay, that was premeditated levity and jocularity.
I think I have found a new favorite place - Secret Creek Beach at Lake Tahoe. Seems better than Secret Cove beach. They have shade trees and it's a smaller group - easier to say "Hi" to. I joined the Tahoe Area Nudists, or T.A.N., who frequent former.
Still, Purdon Crossing at South Fork Yuba River in the Sierra foothills is also a co-favorite. The water is cold, but after you get into it, you become very used to it. I'm getting to know the regulars there.
My own criteria are the following: friendly people around you, combination of shade and sunshine depending on where you sit or lie, a low cost of getting there and being there (transportation costs and daily fee or no daily fee), and the amount of the general area's aesthetics present. What other facets could one evaluate?
I guess the opposite of that is, unfriendly people, no shade, ugly surroundings, and a very expensive experience. Ugh!!

Posted - 05/30/2013 : 7:22:26 PM for years i was a member at bell acres in north georgia, they have a great hiking trail that actually gives you a good workout going across creeks and up hills. several times i would step out of the safety grid and hike a trail down through a powerline. nudist resorts are alway a good way to stay out of trouble when nude hiking and much more relaxing since you don't have to be watchful for textile hikers. |

Posted - 05/29/2013 : 06:22:05 AM My girlfriend and I love going to Avalon in WV, we always have a blast there. The staff and guests are all awesome! We always camp though they do have lodge rooms and condoes. So Avalon is our main naked camping trip every summer. Another place we enjoy for day trips to go swimming and hiking is Beechwood Lodge in Ashfield Pa. The staff and guests are awesome here too. I have only been to Beechwood couple times and I love it there im looking forward to taking my mountain bike with me next time! :) |

Posted - 04/15/2013 : 09:41:41 AM I notice allot of places to hike and camp nude in the west. Very few places in the east. I would like to add small campgrounds in western New York, Brushwood Folk Lore Center. this is 3 miles south of Sherman N.Y. and is c/o. We go here allot in the summer and enjoy the pool and hot tub as well a relaxing stroll around the grounds. They have a short road for hiking thru the woods, maybe 1 mile. The price is right, $10 per person per night for tent space. It also has enough land and open spaces for RVs, even a lux bus. Electric and water available. Don't expect a 5 star resort, rather on the primitive side. Check it out at brushwood.com |

Posted - 04/06/2013 : 8:35:27 PM Just about anywhere I can! Enjoyed hiking the Anza Borrego State Park, Death Valley ... camped Death Valley and spent some time nude camping.
We belong to a private campground and we scoped out some of the spots and with the right positioning of the RV and tow vehicle, we would be able to spend some naked time on our site ... outta sight of other campers.
We even enjoy camping naked at our club!
Loves being naked. Plays well with others! |

Posted - 04/06/2013 : 07:36:44 AM I dont have any special place to go where I am I just enjoy going to a few places in California that arent meant for nudity but it is possible to be nude and not bother others due to having many trees, bushes between campground spots. You might not be able to spend a lot of time nude but I am sure the occasional going nude while changing clothes or by the fire at night is possible. |

Posted - 02/18/2009 : 8:33:04 PM Warmskin I like the sound of Jackrabbit Nevada, I especially like the population of 12, we live in Atlanta population too many and i'm sure traffic in Jackrabbit isn't as bad either except maybe Friday and Saturday night when the tumbleweeds roll into town. I would actually like to live out that way as i've always had a interest in ghosttowns and metal detecting. |
