Posted - 04/15/2014 : 03:22:21 AM Munich now has six official "urban naked zones". Why doesn't my town have any? Why doesn't yours?

Posted - 05/25/2014 : 1:22:32 PM I agree that the ghetto-ization of nudism isn't the ideal, but that's the reality we live with at present. I would argue that what Munich is doing is far better than the American 'voluntary concentration-camp' model of herding nudists to remote locations or behind walls to practice our furtive rites. And the value of having the public at large being able to see nudists on the hoof, so to speak, and realize that we're not all a bunch of perverts might have a salutary effect on public opinion and possibly lead to a less restrictive future. |

Posted - 05/25/2014 : 10:44:07 AM In the US some places have tried to have "free speech zones" where people could stand on a soap box and speak their minds. Some colleges, for example have tried that. The problem is that what they are doing is to outlaw free speech everywhere else, which is illegal in the US especially on college campuses. A free naked "zone" outlaws naked everywhere else. I'm not thinking its a good idea.
On the plus side, it may allow more people to experience going naked in public. But really its restrictive everywhere else.

Posted - 05/25/2014 : 09:04:37 AM That's what we need more of...some urban spots...not hidden away at remote locations. I have never been to Haulover, but from pics I've seen, it looks to be more "public". Is that true? Urban locations would make it more mainstream, but we have to start out slow...not "in your face" urban but not hidden away either. |
