Your post reminds me of an old joke. Canada is spelled with 3 letters .It always has been, but then someone started spelling it with 6 letters to help clarify its pronunciation. If you asked a red-blooded Canadian how he spelled Canada - he'd say, "C, eh? N, Eh? D, eh?"
I like the Fahrenheit temperature scale. It's based on body temperature. It better expresses how you feel in a given temperature. I liken it to a school grade.
It was thought that 100 degrees was body temperature. So, the thermometer was based on how you feel. If it's 100, you tell yourself --that's hot!! 70 is average, just as in a school test grade.30 degrees Centigrade is warm, but the number 30 does not naturally suggest hot.
For human feeling, I go with Fahrenheit, but for science, I use Centigrade.
“I rise early almost every morning and sit in my chamber, without any clothes whatever, half an hour or an hour, according to the season, either reading or writing.” Ben Franklin
