Just wondering how many different nudist venues has everyone been to. My wife and I have been to
5 different ones so far. Of coarse they are all AANR affiliated. WE plan on going to 2 more this summer. Our goal is to hit as many as we can before we retire .

I agree... hard to believe there's nothing or not much out there. Lots of wilderness and wide open spaces. I'm certain it would be a very seasonal business but can't imagine there aren't lots of others who enjoy being nude up in Alaska.

I can’t believe there are no venues up there at all!

Being that there are no venues for us nudist here in Alaska, I take my nude time when ever I can. Since the weather is nice, I am outside nude most of the day. The only time I put shorts and shirt on is when I have to go to town. MY intent is to stay nude for as much of my time as I can!!!!

The Prof and I live as full time nudist life as we possibly can. Covid quarantine didn't change our lives that much and we've far out did our longest time of being naked in consecutive days... 36 or 37 days straight. We are usually naked between 2-4 days straight all the time but then need to run an errand or someone comes over. The Prof loves to get the mail so she will slip on something for the walk to the mail box but only has the sheer house dress on for about 2 mins. We just live normally and we've been seen, mostly by the next door neighbors and the neighbors across the street from two separate houses. They seem tolerant but I try not to push it. The Prof is much more careful than I am.

We're getting update emails from our club quite often. Closed, restricted re-opening, limited re-opening, Open, back to limited re-opening. Once a person in the Café tested positive and had symptoms, they shut down lots of things and limited entry to members in RV sites only. Another few days and the 2 weeks will be over and they will re-evaluate.

Lets face it, the vast majority of those living and visiting our club and most clubs are in the age bracket that need to be careful with Covid. There are zero restrictions on being naked but in some situations, you must wear a mask and some of these older nudists are being stubborn, blockheaded dummies and not wearing masks and are not social distancing at gatherings. We don't like wearing the damn masks either but it's far better than a bed in the ICU!

Hoping to hit up my second resort next month. We were supposed to go to Jamaica in July but that got nixed with all of this COVID going on. We decided we still need to get away somewhere, but we can’t go to Bare Oaks like we went last summer because the border is still closed. There are a few other resorts in the US that are about 3-4 hour drives from us but most of them are either closed or have very few things to do because of the quarantined. We found a resort in Ohio, Cedar Trails Nudist club that is open and fully functioning right now. So we plan on hitting that place up for 3 or 4 days in July. It’s almost a 7 hour drive but will be worth it. They also have a frisbee golf course there so I’m hoping my arm will be healed enough by then that I can play the course as frisbee golf is one of my favorite pastimes.

Well FireProf, if you do ever visit, let me know.

One thing I found kind of funny though was I sort of compared my first visit to a resort to drinking alcohol legally for the first time when you turned 21 (or 18 for some of you older folks). Not that I’m complaining of course. When you weren’t of age to drink, the fact that you were doing something wrong always made drinking even more fun. As soon as you turn of age and can legally drink, that novelty wears off. You still enjoy imbibing on a drink but it has a different feeling to it. The same could actually be said for my first visit. Normally when I’m naked in public, I’m not supposed to be. Not that I’m being an exhibitionist or anything but I’m driving naked, hiking naked, skinny dipping somewhere, etc. Somewhere where society expects me to be clothed. Then I go to this naturist resort where I can be as naked as I want to be, and it had a different feeling to it. It was absolutely great to be able to do so, but that feeling of “getting away with something” was missing. Again, not complaining about it, just reflecting on the similarities.

We will definitely let you know if we make it up there Willy!

We'd been nudists for 20 years before venturing into social nudism. The Prof wasn't too eager on social nudism and was afraid of someone we knew finding out. When I convinced her to visit the beach that first time, she was apprehensive but cautiously willing. The first visit went well but it was the second visit that I knew she was hooked. Though it wasn't a meet and greet visit to the beach, she was not shy at all about wanting to go for a couple of long naked walks. She actually asked to go for the walks and better feel for what went on passed our beach chairs.

That first walk, the Prof had a livelier step in her walk. She was smiling and "felt alive!" Of course, after many trips to the beach and subsequent visits to resorts and joining a club, That exuberance wore off and it's old hat for her now. I think we both get a renewed jolt from "rogue nudism" or being nude in places where you probably should be covered or dressed. Driving completely nude for me is one and the Prof will accompany me in certain situations but not often. Most other times she'll wear a shirt to cover her breasts.

We've also gotten tired of being naked inside our motorhome at textile resorts. We do our best to pick sites where we have some good privacy so we can sit naked outside our motorhome at textile resorts. With some minor privacy additions to our site, it's been possible for us to be naked on our site, under our awning at textile campgrounds. It's that feeling Willy alluded to in his last post. Not exhibitionism but more pushing to boundaries of nudity in public places without being seen.

I know what you mean. For a period of time after my separation from my first wife, I practiced what some call "rogue nudism." I hiked or ran naked on trails at nearby Pine Mountain. Besides the very physical feeling of being active while naked, there was also a definite "adrenaline jolt" from being naked outside a "conventional nudist location." It made me feel "alive"; probably more so than being naked in a "conventional nudist location." Some people denounce it as exhibitionism or streaking; but I feel they get it wrong. It's only exhibitionism if an audience is deliberately sought for a sexual thrill; and I always made sure the possibility of getting "caught" was minimized.

Often, newbies in nudism also get this "adrenaline jolt" their first time at a nudist venue. I watched my wife on her first trip to a nudist resort, with a mixture of amusement and appreciation, express that "adrenaline jolt" after interacting nude with a few people. Her mood got elevated and she was "all over the place" naked with an elated expression on her face. Last Saturday we were at Lake O' the Woods; and it was clear that the "adrenaline jolt effect" was subsided. She now finds it very easy to be naked; because she is now used to it. So now she has to adjust and find her enjoyment in nudism in other things: like physical activity (she loves ping-pong) and paddle-boarding (LOTW is a great place for that.)

But yeah; I think a combination of "rogue nudism" and conventional nudism can be a great balance.

We are now up to 8. Visited Sunny Rest in PA. While on vacation in August 2019

Thanks Willy. Sounds like a place the Prof and I need to visit. We have friends in Manitoba and maybe we can meet there for a long weekend or longer. They usually come way down here to spend a week at a clothing optional resort. Next time, pack more blankets and keep the clothes off in bed! LOL

Sounds like a success!

The video intro is interesting. Neve been to a resort that takes that approach. I think an actual person doing it is still better though.
I assume that the "go hide if you want to stay dress" directive does not include toplessness or a sarong. Not so bad.

Glad your GF enjoyed it as well! Thanks for the update!

Well, we left there yesterday and we both really enjoyed it. The clothing policy isn’t bad at all. Many people who were a bit chilly, including my girlfriend at times, would put on just a shirt or a hooded sweatshirt and still walk around bottomless. Even men. I saw one couple, he was wearing a shirt, she was completely nude. The staff was very friendly and it was a nice place. My girlfriend, who wasn’t a nudist before we were together, already wants to go back.
We pulled up to the venue and of course I was naked for the drive there, so I walked into the office already naked. We both had to go in because your first time there they make you watch a short video. My girlfriend was clothed at the time. In the video it does say that if it’s your first time, and you’re apprehensive about getting naked right away, it’s okay. But the only part that bothered my gf was they tell you to find a place out of the way, like a quiet corner, if you’re going to stay dressed, so that you don’t offend any nudists. Her thoughts there were that it could be discouraging to anyone who wants to try it.
Anyhow we left the office and found our campsite. We decided to just bring a tent. There are about 3 or 4 places to camp at, being a weekday it wasn’t too busy, so we chose the one site where we could keep our truck right there with us. The others you can’t. We got out to start unpacking and setting up the tent and she was already naked by then. We set up camp then walked back to the office/store because we needed batteries for our air mattress as we didn’t check them before we left. It was nice to be able to just stroll along naked and even do some shopping. You can put everything you buy under your reservation and just pay at the end when you check out. That day we experienced as much as we could. We rode our bicycles around the park, we did some swimming, went in the hot tub, played chess outdoors (they have the big game where you move the 2 foot tall pieces on the ground...she beat me), we played mini golf, we went inside and played pool. All in the nude. It was a great day. The next day we got up and showered. They have shower and bathroom facilities around the park, so it was only a 2 minute walk to the closest shower/bathroom. There are both indoor and outdoor showers. After that we went down to the lake and floated around a bit there, spent some time lying out on the “beach” there. A guy I know who lives in a nudist resort in Michigan was in town with his girlfriend and had arrived that day so we met up with them at the bistro and had a late lunch and some beers. Afterwards we all went out and played some horseshoes, hit the hot tub again then went inside and played darts before calling it a night.
Got up yesterday morning and packed up to head out. Of course I stayed naked the entire time, even driving to the office to check out and then driving out of the place.

Our only disappointments about the place were: the trails. They advertise hiking trails but when we went to hike, they aren’t maintained at all, so even though a sign points you in the general direction, you can’t see a trail anywhere; The bistro was good but has a very limited menu; the mini golf is very poorly maintained. There are tiny pebbles all around it and they stick to your feet and cover the golf area so that you can’t hit a straight ball. And last was the weather, but that’s not their fault. The day was great but at night the temps dropped and we didn’t prepare for that. The first night we both were very cold. The second night we both actually put our clothes on to sleep to try to keep a bit warm.

But overall we both loved it. Not that we’re in any position at the moment, because we just bought a house, but we both talked about how it would be nice to buy a place there. I definitely recommend visiting this place if you can. I posted some pics on my Instagram account, if anyone on here is on there, let me know

The policy seems reasonable enough and would address the Prof's needs to cover when she's cold or had enough reflective sun. Our club's policy is basically the same except we occasionally get some clothed staff member going around being the "you need to be naked" police around the pool deck. Still, I think we'd really like to visit Bare Oaks in the future!

Looking forward to your trip report Willy! Have a good time.
