Member Phydeau requested a dedicated thread to:
"...SPECIFICALLY address why a site as prestigious as this in promoting a perfectly healthy and normal lifestyle continues to accept advertising revenue from the contended source, instead of BANNING influential and wonderful community members who have done more to promote nudism than almost anybody?"

As this question seems to be primarily addressed to site policy, I'll comment first.
The "contended" resort in question is contended by AANR, not our organization. We see no merit in AANR's argument, and we feel AANR's public ultimatum was embarrassingly mishandled and misguided. Now that the dust has settled, AANR has only succeeded in focusing more attention on its politically corrected labeling of all nudist resorts as always 100% family friendly all the time. The damage to AANR probably won't end with - -.
We are honest enough to admit that just like in the textile world, there is a legitimate time and place for adults to meet with adults and enjoy being adults in a nightclub, lounge or bar. Most adults are offended by people acting inappropriately. Those same adults may still enjoy a lingerie dance, or another similar themed clothing event.
We do not support a "Disneyland everywhere, children all the time" requirement for nudism. We feel this is ludicrous. It seems to be the rallying cry for many die-hard AANR activists, but that is not our policy. It's doubtful an educated politician with a research staff would believe it anyway.
What we do support is any resort that provides a satisfactory nude vacation experience, is honest with their advertising, and actively and consistently enforces a no-open-sex rule. If children are present an appropriate atmosphere must be maintained. We have found on first hand observation and talking with the regulars and residents, that - - falls within those guidelines. It is a location that caters to both families and adults. And for such a beautiful resort, we're surprised many have overlooked it for all this political crossfire. It's obviously something worth fighting over.
The mention of banning influential members refers to at least one member being banned for a minimum of 30 days for habitual resort bashing. We don't care if you're the President of the United States, you can't resort bash here.
[Admin's note: The resort in question had become much worse since 2008, and like others of its type, is currently banned from comments in this forum.]

I am new to the nudist resort thing and have never visited one (plan one going to one next week) but I am the owner of several topic specific forums and I can understand the necessary admin actions that must happen although they may not be fully understood by the forum population. I have to ask this of the Admin and please no disrespect is meant. Was the woman who is so influential warned that her actions was not allowed before she was banned? As an admin I have only had to ban one person from any of my forums and it was due his instistance of trolling. He was warned twice and was forever banned on the third time.
As I understand the owners of this forum (If I'm wrong about this please let me know) is attemping to begin another organization. What would be the purpose of starting another organization just like another one. Diversity is the spice of life. AANR has contented this resort, so be it. You as a patron have the right to choose. However if they still follow the beliefs of this new organization, what would compel this forum to allow any negativity towards it? Sure some may say that since they advertise on this site that they might get special consideration. Maybe, but if they truely went against the values of this would be organization, I believed it would be dropped. It just doesn't cost that much to keep a forum going. That just my 2.5 cents worth and it probably is not worth that much.
Any yes I know my spelling is terrible.

Yes, this person was warned numerous times by email and other private communications, several months apart, to curtail the negative bashing toward resorts catering to adults. We were assured each time there would be no more problems. This time there was no warning before the temporary ban.

Yes, if - - - - or any other resort changes, and thereby fails to meet our standards, they would certainly and swiftly be dropped from our support.
[Admin's note added 19 Aug 2009: As you can see, we have indeed dropped a Tampa area resort from our publications for exactly these reasons.]
