If you consider people with a tattoo as low class, you have a real problem. We have friends from all walks of life that have them, teachers, managers, housewives, white collar and blue collar. My wife has one on her shoulder. As far as piercings go, I wouldn't have any but that's my choice. Does this make those that do low class? I think not! When we first became nudists we had no idea how many people had tattoos and piercings, if you have nothing in common with them good luck.

Gosh, snidely, what planet are you from? Tattoos have never been so popular. Witness the TV weekly programs. As for age, older people are now ready to do things they wouldn't consider in their youth. Look at all the movie people who have tattoos. As for piercings, I have had mine for almost 4 years and when I go to nudist resorts, mostly people look and comment positively. And people want to know what the experience is like. One nudist wanted to pass info along to his nephew. IMHO, your generalizations don't cut it.

Go to a nudist resort and notice all the tatoo's and piercings , ask the occupant what he or she does for a living, they will be banker, lawyers, pilots, law enforcement, firemen and homemakers to name a few. even though I don't like pain, last response was OUCH, I would consider a small tatoo but not cover my body with them ( but to each their own) and as for piercing if I did, it would probably be a nipple ring as there is no way I would pierce anything south of my navel.

My guess is that no one in the Fortune 500 has a tattoo. Neither would any of the higher ranking jusges on various Courts.
I would think you are mostly correct. There is one exception I know about. George Schultz, the former Secretary of State in the 1980s, had a tiger tattooed on his butt. It's a bit hard to associate that with his lofty position in life, but he must have been a wild guy in his earlier life.

Bob - My guess is that people who go to "structured" resorts might not be representative of society as a whole. At public clothed beaches you don't have much in the way of tattoos. Even at nude beaches like Haulover, except for a few exhibitionists wearing c--k rings parading around, you don't see an overabundance of tattoos or piercings. Next time I'm at Haulover I'll make a thorough survey of both the clothed section and the nude section and report back.

Snidely, you must go to very different beaches than I do. At both the Jersey shore and the Florida coast, over the past couple years, I have seen numerous tattoos and a few piercings. Most of the piercings I can see at textile beaches are belly-button rings; but I have no evidence to suggest that the incidence of tattoo art or of body piercings is any different at textile beaches or at nude beaches than it is in the general population. As ThornApple said originally, it is evident that styles are changing. Doesn't mean you or I have to change along with them, but as Dylan said long ago, "the times, they are a-changin'"

What you do with your genitals with an artistic touch is none of my business. As for myself, I'll forgo it. Some I have seen in nudist resorts is a bit painful to see. I did see one fellow whose penis looked like a spot where he hooked all his fishing tackle box contents. That was a bit much, even for my lackadaisical thought patterns, when I'm relaxed.

tatoos and genital piercings are gross. my opinion.
if you're not close enough to a tattoo from a distance it looks like a birth mark, a blemish on what otherwise would've been beautiful skin.

I don't think people choose to have piercings and tattoos to draw attention to themselves. It seems to just be something they want to do to their bodies for themselves. However it would be nice if it was more often artistically and tastefully done. Personally neither tattoos or piercings appeal to me.
However jewellery is an issue. Mrs McNigel enjoys taking off her clothes, but always wears some jewellery, which can include pierced nipples. My theory is that she's not comfortable losing all the trappings of civilisation and I think that's considered fair enough for a woman, where decorating themselves is the norm. I prefer to remove everything. I think genital jewellery on a man would be exhibitionism and frowned on. (She thinks I'm being boring.)

I think people are becoming open and expressing themselves more, when I first visited nudist resorts back in the mid-eighties you didn't see many tatoos and don't remember any piercing other than the ears now it is common place and some are ok and some maybe not but if its not being flaunted i'm ok with that, you only live once enjoy while you can.
