We raised both of our children as nudists, and for some reason they never talked until they were teenagers (and disliked nudism).

Just curious, did they ever like it? And if so, what do you think changed it for them?

I remember my very first trip to a nude beach when I was about 17 I had never been nude around anyone I never knew what I would see what was legal, illegal etc. But I freaked out when I was strolling the beach looking at shells enjoying a nude walk when I find a family in the nude and they had two kids both under my age, I panicked like omg was it legal for them to be nude there etc. The mother was very in sync with knowing it was my first trip there so she came over to talk to me to help me feel at ease.

When I took my daughter to the resort, I always made sure she was within my peripheral vision. Always cautious; never paranoid. Even if she ran off to the other side of the grounds to play with some kids; fine as long as I could still see her. And other parents would do the same with their kids. Never in all my years in nudism have I ever encountered a situation where there was an "incident" with a child. And I've seen people let their kid run off all over the resort.
Although it is a rare occurrence, there have been at least a few cases where terrible incidents involving a child have occurred at nudist resorts. I'm not happy to point this out, but in the interest of accuracy and truthfulness, which are important in the nudist community, the fact is that incidents although rare have happened. They are even less likely to happen today because of the ability of anyone with internet access to conduct instant background checks. Most nudists at resorts where we frequent also help parents keep an eye open for the safety of their children. It is also obvious in the news these days that an incident is more likely to happen at a school or at church than at a nudist resort. We live in Virginia. In the local news reports there have already been two incidents involving pastors and children at two different local churches in 2012, an incident with a child and a police officer, a child and a teacher, plus a child and a school bus driver. We are glad that you have never encountered an incident, and we hope you never will. Seems like nudist resorts are safer for children than school, sports camp, or church. Having said this, we still feel totally comfortable having children in my family at nudist resorts. We even recommend it. We believe that nudist resorts are among the safest places anyone can be.
