There is a newly created nude beach eight miles south of Fort Pierce called Blind Creek. It isn't an official nude beach, but for those of you familiar with Haulover further south in North Miami, you probably know Richard and Shirley Mason, who were instrumental in creating Haulover years ago and are still involved in keeping this nude beach 'official' today. They and others have been communicating with the St. Lucie county sheriff and commissioners about the prospect of a nude beach at Blind Creek and the authorities have been receptive to the idea as long as there isn't any trouble. As a result, Richard and Shirley are forming a team of Blind Creek beach ambassadors like they have at Haulover who keep an eye out for lewd activity, bottles on the beach and other problems. So the place is pretty official as far as nude beaches go. We visited there this past Saturday and in spite of the less than ideal weather conditions, the place was pretty busy with at least 40-50 other nudists there. The beach is very pristine and full of seashells. If you google 'friends of blind creek' there is more information about the ongoing effort to make this nude beach 'official'. Given that the authorities know it is there and they aren't opposed, that is enough for my wife and I to visit and feel comfortable. We had a great time and we plan on going back often since we live nearby. Just wanted to let everyone know that this is an option for nudists who want to visit a great beach without making the drive all the way to Haulover!

Went to Blind Creek Beach again this past Wednesday to see what the weekday activity was like and there were probably 20 people there... off and on. Some people left and more people arrived. One point to note: On the Friends of Blind Creek Beach website, they have a sign that they suggest you print and show on the beach which says 'Beyond this point you may encounter nude sunbathers'. We printed the sign but when we got there, there were already two people with signs, so we didn't need to use ours. We've been there four times so far and we plan on going back one or two times per week because we love being on nude beaches and this one is very close to where we live!

Wife and I visited Blind Creek 4/2/15 and 4/3/15. Arrived late on 4/2 and early on 4/3. Circumstances did not allow us to stay long but it appears to be a great place - a deep beach with nude part being 300(?) yards long and quite deep back into the dunes. Not a lot of folks there but as word leaks out I'm sure that will change. There were no signs there designating the start of the nude part - just a broomstick stuck in the sand - as mentioned above you should endeavor to bring your own sign. Sand seemed browner than other beaches with more shells. Parking for maybe(?) 30 cars on a sand unmarked lot. No water or restroom facilities. There were those pesky fishermen there on the morning we were there.

Great news for me as it is not too far from Tampa (about 3 hours away). I know where we'll be going next time we visit my wife's parents.

The nude part is Blind Creek SOUTH and is between Fort Pierce on the north and Jensen beach on the south. I did not notice any motels at either city but I suspect there are some and will be expensive.

Been to Blind Creek Beach the last 2 days and going again today!!! Beautiful beach and very quiet and relaxing....especially walking the beach naked!!!

I was at blind creek in March for the first time. Just received a notice that state of florida was trying to make it illegal to be nude at Blind Creek

Legal nudity at nude beaches gets the go ahead in Florida Senate committee
A Florida lawmaker wants to make it clear that it's OK to be naked at a nude beach.
While it is illegal to expose one's sexual organs in public, many areas permit "clothing optional" beaches and the state has at least 34 nude resorts.
But there are cases where people have been arrested and charged for being nude at a nude beach.
Sen. Jason Pizzo, D-Miami, wants to make sure folks who enjoy Florida beaches au naturel aren’t arrested and charged under the same set of laws as, say, child molestation.
“That’s 'no bueno,' as we say in Miami,” said Pizzo, about something “that is already legal and allowed by numerous communities across Florida.”
His bill (SB 850) would expressly allow being "naked in public ... including, but not limited to, clothing-optional beaches."
"A mother breastfeeding her baby does not, under any circumstances, violate" the law, it adds.
When he addressed the state's Senate Commerce and Tourism Committee Tuesday, Pizzo had a staff analysis that detailed how nude tourism holds a billion-dollar potential for the economy.
The state’s nude resort industry already attracts more than 2.2 million tourists a year, according to reports, and nude beaches generate an economic impact of as much as $7 billion.
For instance, Haulover Beach — the No. 2 nude beach in the world, according to Cosmopolitan magazine — is in Pizzo’s district. It produces more than $980,000 in parking fees annually for Miami and attracts as many as 7,000 tourists a day, he said.
But Pizzo has heard from people who said they were arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious conduct simply for being nude at a nude beach.
Communities along the state's east coast have voted to make clothes optional at places like Apollo Beach near New Smyrna, Playalinda Beach near the Cape Canaveral Seashore, and along some Panhandle beaches west of Panama City.
It’s hard to undo a lewd and lascivious charge in the eyes of a public unfamiliar with the legal system, said Pizzo, a former prosecutor.
“It could be something completely innocuous, like being in the parking lot, but you get arrested and I do a background check, and see a lewd and lascivious charge," Pizzo said. "I’m not going to hire you."
Pizzo now has presented the bill to two committees without opposition from lawmakers or any members of the public.
It has one more committee to clear before being available for the Senate floor. There is no House companion.
