My famliy and I are planning a vacation and we are thinking about going to the Maui Sun Club. We are members of AANR and belong to a club in Alberta, Canada. We are looking for a restfull holiday but one that would also provide some other family activities in a tropical setting. If any one has been to the Maui Club or the immidate area, I would like to here from you. We are planning take the vacation in Feb 04.
Cheers Doug

I've been acquainted with at least one couple who enjoyed their stay there. I know that AANR-West had at least one mid-year meeting there. I would very much recommend it as a vacation destination. I'm not sure of what's available for families there. I have met a couple of the people in their management and found them quite pleasant. However, you can see their website at http://www.mauisunclub.com/ & contact them via email at gdryer1946@aol.com
There is also a nonlanded club, Friends of Little Beach whose website is at http://www.littlebeachmaui.com/ & email info@littlebeachmaui.com
Best regards, Cheri

We were there about 5 yrs ago, it was a very relaxing back to nature stay for us (alot of sleeping, reading and picking mangoes for breakfast). At that time Georgianna was ("off the grid", no power) propane lights, fridge and cooking. We stayed in one of her cabins. At that time she had only the two cabins and one suite in the main house. She had a wood fired hot tub which was rather neat (take the shovel and stir it or it gets too hot). She is on 18 ac. right next to a state park (you have to go through the park to get to her driveway). The park is not nudist, and there is no safe swimming there either, it is a black sand beach w/some caves). There were not alot of activities for children, however Georgianna does have a teenaged son so depending on the age of your children it could work. There are two or three nude beach places to go on that side of Maui ie: Venus pools (fresh water), Blue pools (also fresh water and quite a hike too) and red beach (hike through a cemetary to get to). Not much shopping though, it rains almost every night ( tropical jungle) at least a two hour drive on a very windy road (great views) from Kahului, do your grocery shopping in Kahului before you go, as it is very expensive in Hana and selection isn't great. Over all we had a wonderful time, got some very much needed R&R.
We do plan sometime in the future to re-visit Geogianna at the Maui Sun Club.
Have fun, we did.
PS: Maui Sun Club is Nudist and not clothing optional. And don't park your car under the coconut palms, as they drop the coconuts at night.

Wow Betalil, you make that trip sound so inviting, so much different from the typical tourist vacation in Hawaii. It would be great to go "native" in a tropical setting like that. Thank you for the lovely description and the good information.

Thanks for the great description on Maui Sun Club. We have considered going there several times but haven't made the trip yet. Sounds like a great place to relax.
