Thank you Melissa for bringing up this subject. I like your honesty and inquisitiveness; keep it up!!
If a household with a family in it who are nudists, it would seem normal to use a bathroom simultaneously to some extent. As in weekday mornings when school and work begin at, say, eight o'clock, everybody needs a shot at the bathroom. If that family has only one bathroom, they as nudists have a big advantage over the textile family with one bathroom.
If one person needs to shower, another needs to brush their teeth, and another needs to empty their bladder, I would not see all of these being mutually exclusive. I know that doing #2 is a solo gig, so to speak. In one sense, it promotes communal nudity like nothing else. For in the bathroom, the needs of humanity are quite basic, and a family can be drawn closer together this way than they would by exclusive privacy of one at a time. I also think there is a salutary effect in that no one in the family is seen to better than the other, where otherwise there could be sibling rivalry.
I was recently in a nude spa resort, and the changing room was all co-ed. They did have, for some unknown reason separate, individual shower rooms. Being my poetic and philosophical self, I saw the beauty, gracefulness, and the completely free, communal feeling at work in the changing room. I was undressing right along side with a young woman, and it felt natural and normal. At another time, I saw this little girl (about 2) having a hard time adjusting to all the strangers in the room. Her mother was nude, and was holding her little child. I remember trying to make "Red Skelton" silly faces to jolly this little girl along. The nude mother was quite appreciative of my efforts. Mostly I felt a sense of being supportive of the meaning of a co-ed dressing/undressing room, and I enjoyed the mixing of the genders, as it was a stark contrast with the textile world view of that sort of thing.
So, these are some of the things about being in a co-ed changing room. Things are as good and caring as you make them under any circumstance. With my imaginative, spontaneous self, I have been able to negotiate this sort of thing to everyone's advantage, or at least I try to be that way. I think it puts everyone at ease to be in a mixed gender bathroom, you learn that you can just be your humble, modest self, and bid any sense of aggression or over-assertiveness a fond farewell. You may even find that fighting siblings will behave better all the way around in the rest of daily life.
Anyway, just some rambling in my head finding its way to the computer.

You do realize that this thread was started in 2003 and the last post was 2004? It generally makes more sense to start new relevant threads than to resurrect ancient threads (I mention because there has a been a rash of this going on lately.)

Nudeisbetter, I believe the admin would prefer for us to look to see whether there is a thread already going BEFORE opening another & new thread ( unless Admin can advise differently) Interesting post by the way, Warmskin.

Oh. Well, if that's the case, sorry. But typical netiquette says you shouldn't do that. It seldom makes sense, either - replying to something someone wrote 5 years ago doesn't make sense.

In some cases the people are no longer posting anymore, but in this case Melissa is back with us now. It's nice to resurrect some of these old threads as long as you acknowledge the resurrection and don't reply to someone that hasn't been with us in years.

No biggie, but responding to her initial comments from 2003 doesn't really make sense in 2008, IMHO. And the current response didn't seem to realize that it was 5 years late.

What is quite badly needed is a regrouping of the threads such as to form several new categories. If there was a section on body piercing, tatoos, and related items, or one with the "erection problems" all together, then much future duplication could be avoided. Similarly, there are threads that are only a notificaztion of an "upcoming event" that happened 3 1/2 years ago and serves no current purpose. I have offered to do the workon this several times, but without result.

Since I live alone and have since 2004, I can be be Nude 24/7, Although It's taken time to get to this point and shake years of conditioning, But anything worth doing sometimes takes time. And I find unless It's really hot I don't have to run the swamp[evaporative] cooler on high anymore, Especially at night, Sometimes I leave It off and that will be reflected in My next electric bill, Water is only $10 a month here(pumping charge, Meters were tried and froze when temps went below 38F(insulated pipes didn't help), The park where Me and My house live(My house is owned by Me[no mortgage either] as I'm a resident, Not a tenant) would have to bury the meters in the ground and that isn't cheap I hear.

How right you are. My brothers and I used to wrestle and fight all the time when we were kids. But if we were all nude, then no way!

Hey Melissa I am a nudist (the only one in my fam) but I can't be nude all the time around my fam cos I have a step son we don't know what his dad would do should he find out I hang around nude at home but, we don't close the bathroom door when bathing etc and we do share the bathroom, as for dressing, it make no diff if some else is in the bedroom while we dress both my stepson and daughter have seen my wife and me bath and even stopped to chat while we bath.
