No Topic Needed In This Thread - Topic-Free Zone
There was a good suggestion for an "off topic" topic, where the Admin won't gripe at you for ignoring the subject! 
And so, drum roll please, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! In this thread, and this thread only, it matters not what the subject is, nor if there was a subject in the first place. We'll soon be swimming in spaghetti, but here goes!

I have a Question. What is an "avatar"? Altho I found the word in my dictionary, I do not understand how or why it is used here. Is there a discussion of it somewhere? If so, I would ppreciate reading it.

An avatar is the little picture that you use on an internet site to identify yourself. On this site a lot of people have their picture as their avatar, but some people have a character of some sort to represent themselves.

Ned, under the Members Menu you'll find your Profile. You can choose an avatar from the set provided, or upload a small square picture as one of your avatars, then "choose" it to activate it.
If you have a special pic you'd like made into an avatar, send it to me at admin@nudist-resorts.org and I'll set it up for you.
By the way, the same goes for your profile pic (the larger one in the profile), except that it cannot be uploaded, it must already be on a server somewhere, and not on a password protected webpage. Or, send it to me, and I'll upload it into your profile. 
And yes, we have several discussions on personal avatars. I found a few by using the search function on this site. Try "Avatar Images, What does your's say about You?" or "Avatars?"

The server for Nudist-Resorts.Org was experiencing problems. Glad we're home again! Admin may be changing servers again. :(
