Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, but all the posts I've read seem to deal only with shaving. I am curious as to why more people don't talk about waxing as a hair removal method. I'm a guy and I have been getting total body waxes for the last two years. IMO it is the only way to go. The results last between 4 to 6 weeks and after the first few sessions the pain is hardly noticable. I would never go back to shaving. I would like to hear from others to see if they have tried this and what their experiences with waxing have been.

Because my hair grows almost paralel to my skin I find that shaving gives me very bad ingrown problems. I have an epilator which is probably very similar to wax. I find like you that the pain the first time was rather bad but the last time it was hardly noticeable. I only do the genital area and my stomach so that works pretty good but if I were to want to do the whole body the epilator would not probably be my choice.

My wife shaves every other day (pubic only and legs of course)and has absolutely no trouble with ingrowns.

My wife and I both enjoy being hairless. The older we've grown, the less we enjoy body hair. My Wife gets brazilian waxes and loves the smooth results. Last year she convinced me to get my chest and back waxed. It was painful, but the results were definitley much better than shaving. I have yet to try a full body wax. It has to be real painful by the shins!!! Ouch!!!

It really only hurts the first few times. Some things that I have done to reduce pain is to take some tylynol an hour before. Also, with respect to the pubic area, hard wax is the way to go. Strip (soft) wax is very painful on the sack so insist on hard wax there. After a few times, your body gets used to it and the hair isn't as long as the first time if you go every four to six weeks. I am actually at the point where I look forward to it as I love the way my skin feels all over afterwards. There's nothing like it.

I have read in the hype about the epilator, which is similar infunction to waxing, that eventually the hairs quit coming back. Is that true or is it the same as a shaved hair that just keeps on going?

My wife looks forward to it also. I didn't even think about my genitalia. That must hurt like hell! We have a female who waxes us. That must get a little personal! LOL

I have never used one so I can't tell you. Sounds like it might hurt in the "sensitive" area though.

It does get personal, but after the first few minutes it just becomes clinical. It is not a sexual adventure by any means. My waxer is female and after the first time, I have lost any shyness around her. She does me completely. With respect to "down there", as I said ealier, if the waxer uses a hard wax instead of the strip wax kind, the pain is hardly noticeable.

Hi Gospel,
I have been using an epilator on my body from the neck down for a while. The first couple of times it did hurt a little. Now there is no pain at all. It works great on the pubic hair. I even use it on my scrotum. The pubic area is very smooth and the hair that does come back is much softer and finer. I find that fewer and fewer hairs seem to be coming back the longer I use the epilator. The best thing is that there is no stubble. If I shaved my pubes, the next day there would be stubble. Now, there is none. I do my whole body once a week and even then the hair is barely noticeable. I love the epilator and will not go back to shaving. I love being smooth. Good luck

I've been using the Braun silk-epil for a year now. Like Smoothy, there is no longer any pain and the amount of growth has decreased. I actually have small areas where hair growth has completely ceased. I don't use it on my scrotum though.

I'm talking about experience. I've tried it a number of times on my scrotum with different techniques. Results were not good. To summerize, I use the Braun everywhere except on my scrotum.

Hi Chic,
I do use it on my scrotum with great results. The trick is to get the skin pulled tight and as flat as possible. Run the epilator without the detachable guide lightly over the skin.
