Being my first time within the realm of nudity and what it represents, How does one actually get introduced? Does one need to know someone to be introduced, or does one just walk into a resort/camp/home? As I've stated before, I've never been to any of the activities and knowing myself, will be a little uneasy. Is there someone at all these functions that become a/your host to make you feel welcome? Being from the northeast sector what facility would you recommend?

You don't need anyone but yourself to walk into nudism. Just do it. The next time you take a shower, dry off and grab a dry towel. Don't rush to put on clothes/bathrobe. Sit on that dry towel and read a book or newspaper or just get online without getting dressed.

If you're talking about northeastern US, there are several options:
Solair in CT near the MA border, Pilgrim Naturists - a nonlanded club in New England, Berkshire Vista in western MA, Sandy Terraces near the Cape.

Not all clubs are open all year long.

Thanks Cheri! What one does at home to me is one thing, can't wait to the other with a little nervousness to boot. Anyone else with advice will be looked at with a very open mind/soul/and body

Cheri is absolutely right; I would only add to that you should try to get a little accustomed to being nude at home before trying social nudity. It's not a necessary step, but it does make the transition easier.

Hi Stretch
When we decided to visit our local nudist club we rang ahead so that they were expecting us.
Most clubs have people assigned to show you around and introduce you to other members and explain the rules.
Once on the grounds and you have striped off you will wonder why you worried about it so much.
I agree with those above take your clothes off at home and sit in a private place in the sun it is very relaxing.
So is social nudity nudists are very friendly people who are nonjudgemental

And...if the outdoors and sun aren't available, just relax without clothing reading a book, playing a game of cards, watching television, getting online, or even housework. It is more relaxing and easier to get through difficult tasks when au naturale.

I am happy to tell anyone else who is new to nudism that the landed resort I went to made it very easy for me to be comfortable my first time and each subsequent time. I've actually been there 22 times since April 1st! I am single (by virtue of being widowed) and I was aware that nudists are often slightly "wary" of single males visiting. It's up to you to make sure that you don't violate any rules and that you mind your own business and just be pleasant and friendly to those who seem to welcome you.
I managed to get to know many of the "regular members" there by playing water volleyball and now I'm very well accepted and becoming "one of the gang" rapidly. I enjoy the people, the atmosphere, the totally CAREFREE feeling of being nude socially...it's something I wish I'd discovered many years ago.
I highly recommend anyone giving it a try, and don't let just ONE visit make your mind up for you... it may take 3 or 4 visits before you begin to feel like you "belong"...but once you do..you
will be glad you put forth the effort.

hello very courious and other new nudist,
my approach was trying out nudity at my friends house. I discused with my friend my interest in hanging out nude and going to a nudist camp. The reaction was "why?", anyway I told my friend that I wass going to go out side and bathe in the moon light butt necked. My friend procceded to come out and I was seen necked by someone else for the first time. It was a little strange, at first, being seen by ones best friend in nothing more than a smile but my friend did not mind. So Everytime I went to my friends house from then on I stripped out of my clothes. This gave me the courage to go to my local nudist camp. When I arrived I was somewhat nervious so I covered up with a towel but as the day went on I became more comfortable and the towel came off. Besides i looked like a complete dork wearing a towel when everyone else just wore a smile. Anyway those people at Oaklake Trails in Oklahoma made me feel welcome and at home so i was more and more comfortable around them. I hope this helped. My advice is don't be afraid to just jump in, remember their nude too.

I think 'working' up to it desirable. Get in some good nude time at home. If I don't screw up the addresses, www.nudistparksusa.net and www.naturistplace.com will list nudist resorts and their web pages and telephone numbers. View the web pages, you will I think become more relaxed about going and will learn about cost and rules. Call ahead and make sure they will allow you entry (lone males sometimes not wanted).

Go on a busy day (Saturday) as there is anonymity in numbers. I am to old for a fair comparision but I found my first visit 'a piece of cake.' Undressing was easy, park the car, get out, undress, toss the clothes in the trunk, put on sandals and hat, grab backpack or whatever, and there you are.

I have insect repellent, sunblock, water, compass, towel, etc in backpack. Towel is required for sitting/lying.

Best Wishes, Jim

Beats me. I would worry more about the fact that he likes to hang out with you nude rather than hanging out with your wife nude.

Point him in the direction of several good books and online resources such as www.aanr.com , www.naturistsociety.com , www.nudist-resorts.org as well as getting literature from these two organizations or even belong to these two organizations and receive the monthly AANR newspaper and the quarterly TNS magazine.

I can even email you a PDF file of a brochure or three.

I was introduced to nudism by a fellow that I worked with back in '89. We never went to any nudist place together, but he told me what nudist beaches and camps were like, which got my curiosity aroused.

I went to a swim night that was advertised in "Australian Sun & Health" magazine, and the rest is history. It took a few visits before I was finally at ease with nudity.

I'm new to nudism. I am okay with being alone naked or naked about my child while I am getting ready for anything. I gained a whole lot of weight with my child and so forth. It's been a year since I've had gastric bypass surgery an I'm not comfy with my body. I've lost 130 LBS but still I don't like being naked around people. My boyfriend is a nudist and that's the reason I am considering nudism. I guess my concern is there real people at these parks? I mean do you really see women and men that are on the big size? I know my body isn't perfect and I guess I'm just scared people will laugh and make fun of me because I'm a size 12-14.

jamaican_me_happy,

I got your PM and I will get my wife to answer it, she can answer better than I can. One thing I can answer is, Yes there are real people at the parks and beaches. You will see all sizes and shapes and no one cares.
