Well rogandjean, I have seen 2 incidents where alcohol was a negative. Both involved young women. The first was a few years back, and it was obvious the young lady involved was experiencing her first time at a nude facility. She and her friends brought plenty of something in a cooler, and was liberally drinking from the time I arrived, which was before 9 A.M. By noon, she was out of her clothes, and out of her mind. She could barely speak, and had to be helped around walking. Of course, one guy took advantage of this and got her into his tent and the next thing you heard was her loudly moaning. Rangers were called in and the man was quickly told to take his tent down, and himself off the beach. The other time was last summer, where a girl by herself was befriended by an older guy who was all too happy to share whatever his concoction in his thermos was holding. Have to wonder if he put something in hers because she was passed out and needed medical attention. While neither involved beer, it does make you wonder if alcohol should be banned. Of course, on those hot days, I would recommend NOT drinking alcohol, as it helps to dehydrate you. I always enjoy an ice cold beer once I leave the beach, and only drink water and gatorade on it. One nude guys observations and oppinions. BareNJ

Last year when we were down there we made up some Pina Coladas and had them in a cooler. But Barrenguy is right it does tend to dehydrate you and if you've got a long drive home Gatorade maybe better

Alcohol can be a problem in any situation, which is why my wife and I rarely drink - nude or clothed.
At the end of the day, we all have personal responsibility for our actions.

Hello once again.
I'm looking to hit Gunnison a couple times this summer, but I want to get in a decent tan at home before going. Anyone have any recommendations on how to fully body tan at home, or tan with very few tan lines?

Two words: Tanning salon. A few more words: about 8 to 10 consecutive visits should do it.

But I've heard a lot about the tanning salon's that they are not safe at all. Is it any better than lying down in my backyard?

Most tanning salons are certified and are inspected by “whomever”. As for being unsafe with a tanning bed, that would fall under the heading of urban myth. The amount of sun you have already been exposed to your entire life should have killed you, me and all of our ancestors a long, long time ago by the reasoning of some pseudo scientist.
The rays from a tanning lamp are much more controllable than the sun alone. You can always step out of a tanning bed. That thing about the radiation from those sun lamps is greatly over exaggerated. Of course them who sells tanning stuff tell you it’s safe and thems that sell you medical advice tell you how bad tanning is. Everybody wants to make a buck.

As far as the walk to the bathrooms goes, it's never been a problem. Of course, every 2 hours or so I find myself overheated and needing a swim to cool off. Oddly enough, no one else ever seems to need to walk back to the bathrooms either.
I once saw a woman dig as cat-hole in the sand, urinate in it,then cover it back up like a good kitty.(I wasn't nonplussed by that at all,but I'd been hanging with "life-stylers" all day,so that didn't even crack the Top Ten of odd things I'd witnessed on that occasion.)
PABiker,I assure you that some people actually DO hike back all the way to the restrooms, even for a little innocent #1.I have been to Gunnison with two different women who either decided that the water was too cold to get into,or were afraid they'd get their hair wet..!

Moring to all my friends.. been awhile. We are off for a long drive today to Gunnison. Really miss the place, but not the traffic. Bringing along our umbrella and screen. Hope the T-storms don't send us packing
Well wishes to all.
We will miss the Fisherman

Good morning Leesa...
I have not been on the site in a while either and miss the conversations.
Good luck with the weather today. I can't remember a year we have had so much cloudy weather for such an extended time during May and June. Hopefully it will brighten today and the rain will hold off for you.
Have fun in any case...

It was a phenomenol day! No tie ups in traffic, NO RAIN, plenty of parking. Truth be told, I did miss the gang of people at the beach, felt bad everyone couldn't be there to enjoy it.. Weather was perfect!
One question though.. If you are a true nudist why show up at a nude beach with your wife and kids and keep your clothes on? Why would you subject them to naturalism if you don't practice it?{the one child laid on the blanket, head down, the entire time we were there..} I just find it odd.

I was thinking of going to Gunnison, I am up in NJ for business in July but I have to work until 4 or so those days. How is traffic getting in and out of there during the week in the later afternoons? This would be my first time at anything like this; I'm a little nervous but I want to try this out.
