I have recently discovered the delights of having the sun, wind and sea on my natural body. The inconvenience of bathing suits is something I hope to preserve.

But, more importantly, I hope to draw attention to something that seems to have become secondary on a nude beach I go to. That is respect.

I very recently had my purse stolen, but more upsetting, was that a man I had briefly met took pictures of me bending over, and other pictures without the consent of me or my friends. I was told the next day that this man puts these pictures on the internet and shows them at sex houses.

The sense of violation was compounded, when this person left a message (supposedly to determine how I was after having my purse stolen) at my place of work.

This is a person that violated my privacy by taking unauthorized pictures, refusing to destroy them, and threatening me with a lawsuit concerning defamation of privacy when I stated I was going to contact the police.

You see people with clothes on walking the beach with their cell phones all the time. The behavior I experienced was extreme, obviously.

What can a nudist do to protect their privacy with regard to people taking pictures and then putting them on the web or dessiminating them in sexual connotations?

What is the law with regard to pictures on the beach and what can a naturist do to protect themselves? legally, officially and otherwise.

I hope you can offer concrete suggestions to stop some of these violations on the beach, or else sadly I will put my bathing suit back on and decline going to a place that I cannot feel safe.

Sincerely,

Photographed without consent.

VJ, I know the feeling. It's happened to me while onboard a cruise about 12 yrs. ago. If this person is indeed posting pictures of you, and he resides in your state in the US, go to the police esp. if you were on a legal nude beach. Don't take your wallet with you on the beach. Keep it locked in your trunk. That's the best reason to have a keypad entryway on your car. I can never lock myself out.

Make friends with regulars on the beach so you can watch out for each other. Affiliate with a group/nonlandead club that regularly attends and polices the beach. You don't say here or in your profile where you live.

I do wish you well,
Cheri
