I'm considering seriously opening a new nudist resort. I'm polling everybody about its best location around the country. How about California or Florida? A colder location would be possible provided people would not stay "cooped up" in their units during the winter. What do you think? Are there any contractors out there that specialize in the building of (nudist) resorts?

Rich, Things to consider and do: get an engineer to look at the property and possibly an architect to look at the lay of the land and see where you'd put what. To entice people: ammenities - you'd need at least a swimming pool, hot tub, clubhouse, volleyball court, campsites, pull through RV sites as well as at least cabins of some sort. Make sure there are bathroom facilities close to your campers or they'll have to walk up to your bathhouse, complain, and not return. These facilities would be the minimal to bring people. Would it be kid-friendly so that families would come?
Location: near a major hwy. would be ideal.
Parts of FL are too cool for a year-round flourishing resort unless you have an indoor pool/hot tub and other facilities, possibly a sports complex with indoor volleyball & gym as well. If you are going to have indoor facilities, it wouldn't matter where you're located. In summer, the people from the south go north for some respite from the heat.
What about western North Carolina - a bit cooler in the summer than South Florida and in the winter, maybe close enough to skiing facilities. There is no club in that area at all. If it's upscale enough people would flock to it no matter what the time of year. The Florida Keys might be a good place. Just my 2 cents. :) Cheri
