What is the latest about Elysium Fields in or near Los Angeles? I would visit there home page in the last few years and some time ago i had emailed asking of what happened to their site. There did not seem to be much on it. They said that it was closed becuase of lack of funding to keep it running. Will it ever be re-opened?

Found at Google NewsGroups dated July 2000:
One of the last bastions of Californian hippydom is under siege: Elysium Fields, a "clothing optional" resort in Topanga Canyon, just north of Los Angeles, has been sold. Naturally, the nudists are upset, not least because the estate has been sold from under them by the daughters of Ed Lange, founder of the resort. Before his death in 1995, Lange fought tooth and nail to keep the colony on its bucolic perch. Ultimately it wasn't the courts but his own offspring who ended the nudists' residency. The estate will now become a retreat for cancer patients.

that is too bad that it got shut down. i was hoping to visit it someday. and is too bad also that some other nudists organizations did not buy it.
