We had a chance to visit Juniper Woods last weekend and were able to stay in one of their air-conditioned rental units. We loved it.
First of all, they are in the Saratoga/Albany/Catskill area where most of the rooms are booked way ahead of time and those available even in the low cost hotels go for $125 a night and up. Juniper Woods is very reasonable. Why any family nudist would stay elsewhere beats me.
Secondly, Juniper Woods is friendly and delightfully rustic. It is just perfect for a stay in the Catskills. They have a beautiful pool, a nice sized rec hall and convenient facilities, clean and comfortable.
Our stay was too short. We did not get to use the hot tub, but it looked well cared for with a roll back cover and stars overhead.
Even with the heat, the outdoor showers were refreshing, with plenty of warm/hot water. The rental units have indoor showers, but an indoor shower just cannot beat a good outdoor shower IMHO. The ladies side outdoors has nice frilly things and telephone head showers so as not to get the hair wet.
The showers are a few feet away from the rental units. You can walk on the grass easily. The roads have nice new stones on them. If you are staying in the cabin, tenting or bringing a trailer, then you might want to bring sandals unless you have tough feet.
Remember you are in the woods. We did encounter a few mosquitoes, three to be exact. We don't use spray. We just killed them by hand. We saw no flies. The place is clean as a whistle. No trash anywhere. The new owners and member can be justly proud of their family resort.
