You definately ARE NOT! On several stays we have experienced the same sort of things. We have gotten reprimanded for having snacks by the pool area on more than one occasion. What do they expect when they charge 10 dollars for a hamburger!!? They have the "nazi food monitors" all over people like us,but the place is a freakin' orgy at night. The priorities of the management are way out of whack. But they arent going to change. If they police the swinger crowd too much they will get mad and thats their "bread and butter".

The facilities at - - are very nice. I would say out of a five-star rating they are between 3 1/2 to 4. The food is great. Yes most people remain naked there at night the times we went. We have only gone in peak season ie: summer here in the US, so I cant say what kinds of crowds you will have going in November(winter here). Most likely others trying to escape a colder climate to enjoy Florida's nice weather. Have fun. Any other questions I can help you with, just ask.

Jenn, I hate not being able to bring the snacks I want into the pool area. Last time I was there, I smuggled Oreos in the canvas bag I carry with my sunscreen and such.
IMHO, the food is better and the prices are more reasonable at Cypress Cove.

Honestly, besides the live sex shows on the dance floor at night in the club, the weird rules about food and drink were a real turn off. Like I said, when you charge ridiculous prices for a simple hamburger( 10 freakin' bucks) what do you expect people to do? We have been to Cypress, and we agree the overall resort is better.

I came late to this Florida nudist resort critique party but let me put my vote in for Cypress Cove as the best nudist resort in the U.S.
They manage to keep up the facilities, the grounds, and a friendly, efficient staff but most importantly, they retain the family atmosphere of the old fashioned nudist club. I've been there many times and haven't been disappointed once.
Too many of the upscale resorts have jumped on to the "alternative" (spelled swinger) lifestyle theme to boost revenues because that is where the money is these days. There is nothing wrong with this just don't use the words nudist, naturist, or family in your advertising or on your websites. It is very misleading. Lingerie parties have no real place in a nudist environment.

Well said Vealj. I too am all for having bands and events that appeal to maybe a younger and/or party crowd. BUT there ia a difference between a "party crowd" and a swinger crowd.

Although Mrs Cookie and I have not ventured to "- -", we enjoy spending our time at Cypress Cove.
Everytime we have been there we have certainly enjoyed the layed back atmosphere.
We enjoy having breakfast in the restaurant, and during the day, we enjoy laying beside the pool and enjoying a good book. The bar "Cheeks" is a great place to stop by and have lunch, or have a cool beer or wine, and charge it to your room.
We have stayed in the hotel/motel and we enjoyed it very much. The rooms are neat and clean, and the staff is very friendly.
We are looking forward to heading down their next year probably in late April for a week.
We will need it after the cold, snowing weather or New England.

We have been to - - and Cypress Cove in September, and - - in Febuary. We have not experienced a "swinger" crowd at any of these resorts, at least during our visits. We met very nice people at all three of them. The only bad incident was at Cypress Cove, believe it or not, when a couple (who seemed to be VIPs to the staff in the bar next to the pool) came into the pool area fully clothed and spent 20 minutes gazing around while on their cell phones. We felt extremely uncomfortable not knowing if they were camera phones or not. Other than that, we enjoyed all 3 places and never felt like the crowds were swingers. As I stated earlier, I personally prefer Paradise only because I found the grounds to be more appealing.

Well, I have listened to all your opinions and it only reenforces my thought that a mid-February trip to Cypress Cove would fit my particular wants and needs..
Like many here, I have friends in the lifestyle, but it is not my cup of tea. It is not to say they are not nice people,....they simply follow a different path.
And the idea of "food nazis" is not amusing.
Thanks to all of you for your great input.

I am somewhat dismayed by the numerous posts saying that - - is apparently catering to the "lifestyle" crowd. It's not that I care what - - does; there are numerous nearby alternative places to visit. But - - has recently bought up Eden Bay in the Dominican Republic, and I would truly be saddened to see that lovely resort turn into a swingers' den. The DR has long been known as a prime destination for American sex tourists. (Remember Rush Limbaugh getting caught re-entering the US from the DR with a mis-labelled bottle of Viagra last summer? His only comment was "I had a wonderful time in the Dominican Republic. I wish I could tell you about it.") The government of the DR has gone to some lengths to curb the sex trade to counter their negative public image in that respect. I'm not accusing the - - folks of promoting sex tourism or the swingers lifestyle; I have no idea what their motives are ... other than profit, of course. But, after reading these recent posts, I can't help wishing that Eden Bay had been taken over by Cypress Cove instead.
