San Onofre has many crows. Ravens too. Don't leave your lunch by your towel when you take a walk along the shore or they will steal it.
On the other hand, if you meant to ask how "crowded" it is, then that depends on what day you go. Weekdays are nice; weekends tend to be more crowed, sorry, I meant crowded.

thanks anniebare, i plan on going there tommarrow but well see about the weather. sorry about the typos i spilled soda on my laptop and the keys get really sticky and dont work sometimes and i forget to change my mistakes.

Good luck tomorrow at San O. The temps have been a bit cool for the beach and when the wind picks up like today and tomorrow, it can be quite chilly on the beach.
You'll likely be there with several other men. Not many women go on weekdays unless with their husbands/bf's and with everyone back to work tomorrow, after the holiday's, it should be pretty quiet.
I shouldn't be cloudy or overcast because of the off shore winds. It should be clear but cool.

I havent been to a nude beach just a regular beach but I want to go to one soon. But all my friends arent nudists so we end up going to the regular beach and I lay nude with my sister while the others either wear bikinis or are topless. Nobody says anything bad about me and my sister and never been in trouble from the law.

I would like to know what beaches you are talking about? My experience in California is that unless you are going to one of the few nude beaches or a very remote beach you will get cited for nudity if you are seen.
I think you have been very lucky not to have been in trouble yet and your luck will run out someday. Go to a nude beach you can be nude and your friends can wear whatever they want.

My husband goes surfing with our daughter at least once a week down at San O this time a year. She also goes with her bf maybe once a week. The temps are a little chilly and they have to wear wetsuits. But when the sun is out they do enjoy a little "basking naked". But more often than not during the winter, San Onofre is primarily a beach used for surfing. And it usually "out of the clothes, into the wetsuit, then back out of the wetssuit, into some sweats". Since the temps right now are around 60 or so during the day, not much nude sunbathing is able to be done. But accourding to my husband and daughter if there is a "shred of sun while they are there..they are all over it". During the winter months, unless it is an exceptionally hot day, San O isnt too crowded at all. During the week you might find your the only one there!

My wife and I traveled the hour plus to get there (San O) one day. It was warm and sunny at home, got down to the beach and it was overcast and cool. We decided to make the walk down to the water anyway, thinking that it would break and the sun would eventually come out.
We shared the beach, from the service road south as far as we could see with two fisherman. Spent a couple hours there by ourselves. Figured since we were there we'd still get naked cuz it's a nude beach right? That lasted about 2 mins. The the sweatshirts went back on.......5 mins later, the bottoms went on......then huddled together under a blanket.............then said, "hell, this is crazy, let's go home!"

Actually the only really hot months down there are July and August. You do get the occasional unusually warmer days in May sometimes and sometimes through September and October. But make sure it is quite hot overall..then down there its usually about 15 deg cooler.

Jenn, you really brought up a good point. The myth of the California "endless summer" permeates the belief system of an amazing number of people we meet here in Florida. During non- El Nino winters when states like Ohio and Michigan are buried with snow, people fly out during January with the expectation of seeing throngs of beach-goers basking in 85-90 degree California heat. Unless a Santa Ana condition is present, they are greeted instead by mild to downright chilly beach weather that was not on the tourist website photos.
A few years ago we recall a stubborn stratus deck hung over the coast of Newport Beach most of the summer well after "June gloom" was supposed to be over. The cool waters of the California current combined with a thermal low over the desert and interior to pull a cloud deck over the coastal plains to ruin many beach plans.

We only WISH CA had an endless summer, Tom!! Actually YOU are more likely to have a steady, year round climate in FL, than we are here. For the WARMEST winter temps in the US, FL or maybe AZ cant be beat. CA is maybe third in the running, depending on what type of winter we have. So far this year, with the exception of a few "colde spells", our winter has been quite mild. Just the way we like it.
