We are aware of resorts in Cancun and Los Cabos. Desire Resorts have locations in both and Hidden Resort in Cancun is another. We ourselves enjoy Los Cabos. At the resort you are unable to use the beach nude but we love to venture up the coast from Cabo San Lucas, about 20 to 30 minutes up the coast and there we can spend our entire day walking/swimming/tanning on the beach with very few encounters.
This winter we have rented a house on the beach, it is secluded and we can walk right out the house to the beach and never have to get dressed. can't wait!

Hidden Beach, south of Cancun about 1-1/2 hours, is a 4 to 5 star all-inclusive nude resort...it can reportedly get a little rowdy when groups visit, but it is NOT a "lifestyle" resort.

If you want to stretch the definition of "resort", there are other clothing optional accommodations along the Riviera Maya. Azulik and it's sister property, Cabanas Copal are more rustic, not all-inclusive, but restaurant/bar facilities are available on site. There are also at least two smaller properties (with rental cabanas/rooms) that are nude friendly in the Tulum area and one in Xcalak.

We've stayed at Hidden Beach, Azulik, and one of the private cabanas (we have reservations for March at the other!)...they all have their pluses and minuses. If you are interested in any of the resort "alternatives" let me know and I can tell you more.

Cabanas Copal is a clothing optional "Eco Resort" and a sister property to Azulik 1-1/2 hours south of Cancun in Tulum, MX. One can be nude around the resort without any problems, and of course the beach, but not in the restaurant or the beach bar. The beach is where most people are nude/topless. We have stayed there twice. It is rustic with no electricity, but the beach cabanas are a real treat. They also have an extensive massage/wellness facility on the property. Although we are in our mid-fifties we didn't feel out of place with a somewhat younger crowd--30s/40s, and there were people older than us, too. Very laid back atmosphere.
You'll find yourself on the beach with clothed guests as well as nude/topless guests. I think it makes for a freer atmosphere actually as no one seems concerned. It's also interesting to run into people you've been nude with on the beach during the day, and not recognize them later with their clothes on! I would say that when we have been there in March the beach is usually 75% nude/topless. There's not as much nudity just walking around the resort, but you do see nudes everyday on the paths and outside the cabanas. I am nude most all of the time (except restuarant and beach bar as noted), but my wife prefers to be completely nude only on the beach. She does go topless elsewhere around the resort sometimes. By the way, the beach is not restricted so there will be folks wandering by from other nearby resorts or stopping by for their own skinny dip on the Copal beach. We'll probably be going back again this March '08 for two weeks.
Check it out at www.cabanascopal.com and good luck!

Forgot to metion you can see a lot of reviews for Cabanas Copal and Azulik at www.tripadvisor.com I suggest you read the reviews. These resorts as I've said are a bit more rustic so you need to know what you're getting into. If that's your style you'll like these resorts.

It's a bit of a drive from Cancun, but I can recommend Playa Sonrisa down in Xcalak. Plenty of beach with plenty of shady palm trees, and a lot less 'rustic' than Azulik. Being small, it's not a resort in the vein of Hidden Beach or Desire ... but that's a good thing.

We will be travelling to the Mayan riviera In February for a couple weeks. Staying at the Palladium. I would very much like get out and tan the buns a little. What are the chances of getting naked it that area? We are down the beach from Hidden beach and don't want to kick out $$ for a day pass. Are there any secluded spots with in walking distance?

I finally took the time to write a follow up. There was not a lot of opportunity to be nude a the Palladium, but you could if you wanted. Our Royal suite was on the 3rd floor which was great for catching some sun nude in the morning. Looking out, there were several others doing the same. Every day I took a walk towards the Eldorado. There is a stretch of beach about a KM long. There were a few people tanning nude near the turtle nesting area. Once I saw that I would strip down and walk the stretch nude. There were also a few sandy areas south on the beach towards the Grand Serenas. Combined with a couple day trips to the beach at Copal, I came back without tanlines

On Cozumel there is a beach resort named Paradise Beach on the south west part of the island. It's not nude but the women just wear thong bottoms only. Very relaxed.

On the Yucatan peninsula I've also been to a beach just south of the Tulum ruins that is a nude beach. They also rent beach huts there(very rustic)(sorry, can't remember the name as I was only there for a few hours).

Being nude is as pure and free as you can be on this planet!

Try to ask at Casa Valentina (www.akumalcasavalentina.com) in Akumal, between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. It' an exclusive Bed and Breakfast into the jungle. The structure is a villa where you colud be the only guest and so, very probably, go around nude.
