and finally, a video that describes it as "weird and wacky news" or something like that:

Well I think it's wacky.

It's exactly the sort of thing that makes nudists look like a load of fanatics.

If nudists just wanted to be naked when it's a logical choice, then you might one day be seen as the more sensible ones. Then people will admire nudists for not being inhibited and not doing stupid things like wearing clothes to go swimming.

However it's people who think and sometimes insist, that they should be naked regardless of how bizarre, that gets the bad press.

I agree about being wacky. It's only a one hour flight!

I like being nude, but if I have to dress to get on the plane, then dress when I get off the plane 60 minutes later, I would rather just stay dressed.

Speaking of bad press: Does nudism ever get "good press"? To me, it always seems like it's either bad press, or just plain mockery.

That's pretty much why I posted the video. I can't imagine any news show reporting this without smirking and rolling their eyes.

Isn't there a saying about any publicity being good publicity? The press may put their own slanted spin on the news but it does point out that there are people who enjoy being nude and that may help some people to bare all!

But the publicity you want, is the sort that will make others want to joint in and by some miracle made nudists look 'normal'.

You want images of family groups on sunny beaches, where nudity is obviously in keeping and the best option.

However reports of naked flights, idiots getting arrested for insisting on going to court naked and people freezing on UK beaches in September, really don't help.

They are five years late. Castaways Travel did this in 2003 and made huge news with a flight from Miami to Cancun. It was billed as Naked Air but flown by crews of the charter carrier Miami Air. While passengers stripped above 10,000 ft. the flight attendants of the Boeing 727-200 remained dressed.

I wish Castaways would do something like this again, possibly to St. Maarten/Martin or Jamaica.

Tom,

Thank you, I thought that I'd remembered reading abt this before. There are two thinking that could/should have been done differently. One of could be a big security boost regardless. That being that the passengers went through security nude. IF yer nude it makes it hard to conceal weapons, or explosives.

The second thing particularly for the "naked flights." Have the flight crew also nude.

I don't think the public is quite ready to let people go through security and wander through the secure section of the airports in the buff.

And even if you could staff flights with crews that were already into flying nude, I'm not sure if there might be safety issues that would prevent them from being able to do so.

Flying nude is just one more meglomania idea, towards the few things that can't be done nude.We have cruise ships and sky diving the list becoming endless maybe there's a bus or train arriving soon. I believe God put us here to live life naturally, its taking along time for us to realize it, and satan has a lot to do with it. Angels have wings too, most are Nude!

I am trying to work out exactly what the safety issue is with being naked while flying. If for safety reason the crew have to be dressed, then surely the passengers should also be dressed for safety reasons. The only reason I can think of is if there is ever an emergency situation the staff would not be visible (by their uniforms) and it would not be clear who would be giving the emergency instructions, but then this could be solved by still wearing a hat or body paint some kind of badge.
