My boyfriend is a nudist and I am not. I knew that he was when we started dating but recently we moved in together, (and across the US) and I now see when he goes out to meet other gay men in our area and it has caused a little but of a rift in our relationship. I’m not a jealous person by nature, but the idea of knowing that he is naked with a bunch of gay men makes something in my heart hurt. I have all these fears and doubts regarding his lifestyle. I try to talk to him about it but we always end up getting into a fight. IS their ANYONE out there in cyberspace (maybe a gay nudist) that would be willing to answer my questions and help me understand this lifestyle? I love my guy and I’m a very open minded person, I just don’t want this to be the cause of a break up.

You have a common problem. LOTS of straight guys have a partner that isn't in to this. The differance is there are a lot of gay nudists. Frankly, either you trust your partner or you don't. Most social nudity isn't sexual. The beach I visit has a large gay population. I have noticed men looking at me there. I'm not bothered by it and no one has ever approached me. I wish naked men turned me on. Most C/O beaches are at least 70% naked men. You need to deside how important this guy is to you. Then act accordingly.

Hi R.K.W.Q, You've stated that your guy goes out to meet other men. Is this at a nudist function? If so, listen to BaltoBob, social nudism is not sexual. It is a common misconception. You also stated that you're an open minded person. Why not go with him to a nudist resort? You'll get to see what goes on for yourself and relieve some of the doubts and fears you have and, you just might find that you love nudism just as much as all of us here. If you don't like it, at least you tried it,and you could tell your boyfriend so.

Hi Red King:
Some suggestions on this.
Go with your man to a nude beach or a next naturist event he goes to and try it with him, you might find it is a good experience to be naked with a group of fellow gay guys. Being naked is not always a sexual experience, in fact I think that gay guys comfortable with being naked in naturist groups, can more easily have a not sexual type interaction since they tend to be very confident and comfortable with their bodies and not ashamed. If you have never tried it, you might think it is just about sex, lots of non-nudists seem to think that.
I recently stayed at a gay hotel in Las Vegas, NV, it is clothing optional, but I was the only one going naked, everyone else was busy changing from one tiny speedo to the next, especially the younger guys. It seems to me that gay nudists I know are less worried about their bodies, and just enjoying hanging out naked. Of course sex is every where, naked or not, just a part of life.
Check out the gay natuirsts web site, www.gaynaturists.org, some info there, and I realy recomend the annual gathering in August if you want the ultimate gay naturist experience.
Good luck.
