Here are some of our accomplishments since opening the forum in 2002.

It's understandable if you haven't heard much about SUN. This is the membership network we plan to roll out next. In the meantime, here is how we measure the success of our first phase, the existing discussion forum at Nudist-Resorts.Org:

1] Our website is often ranked within the top 100,000 websites in the world. Neither AANR nor TNS can claim this effectiveness and outreach.

Alexa measures each website's traffic rank, outreach, pageviews and other factors. In particular, it tells you how many sites in the world are more interesting than yours. The lower the number the better.

Click on these:
TNS - Not in top 100,000
AANR - Not in top 100,000
Nudist-Resorts.Org - Earlier this year ranked 32,139, with a current average of 122,110 during the slow season.

This puts us up there with the top nudist websites. It's an Internet driven world today.

2] Alexa's own list of popular nudism websites shows Nudist-Resorts.Org as number one or two in popularity.

AANR is listed at #24, and The Naturist Society at #13.

3] Our website develops its traffic with hard work, planning, and without cheap tricks like luring people with thousands of pictures.

Other so-called nudist sites have developed incredible traffic in the past and present by featuring minors prominently in their photo sets. We feel this is a deplorable way to build a site.

4] We get most of our traffic from Google and other search engines.

On that Alexa page, click on the Search% tab. You'll see we get about 60% of our traffic from search engines. It's an Internet driven world.

5] Nudist-Resorts.Org gets between 45,000 and 118,000 unique visitors each month.

That's approaching three times the readership of the AANR Bulletin, which only reaches paid members totaling in the 38,742 range according to recent data.

Here's our traffic data on Quantcast. Click the ALL range tab for the data going back three years.

6] The great people at Google respect and trust us not to embarrass them with lurid pictures. They consider us a site worth mentioning.

Google itself featured us (without solicitation on our part) in their Nudie Central media clip. This is a great honor. They borrowed heavily from our photo gallery throughout that clip.

7] Our photo gallery has been described more than once as the National Geographic of nudism.

Because we only feature tasteful photos, we are regularly featured on sites like this one. We de-emphasize the pics of nude bodies, and feature instead the places you go to be nude. After all, it's not about viewing nude bodies, but bringing your own nude body to some interesting location.

8] We've done all this in less than 8 years existence.

We went live with the forum in mid 2002. Compare our stats with those organizations that have been in operation for half a century.

9] We have extremely low operating costs.

Other organizations will indeed suffer through these hard times, with staff to pay salaries, etc. We are entirely volunteer up to this point.

10] We doubt you can find this kind of coverage for less than twenty times the cost we will offer.

We built our website specifically for the health of the nudist industry, and for resorts that maintain a respectable reputation. We're making advertising as painless as possible for our nudist resorts.

11] We benefit the resorts as much as they benefit us.

The world's finest nudist resorts will be included among our flagship destination showcases.

Without great resorts in our lineup, what value is our membership card to anyone? For the sake of the nudist industry, we intend get all the quality resorts on-board.

12] Our providing this Internet platform at no charge to the public proves our dedication to the nudist ideal.

All of the above has been entirely financed through our own personal efforts and funds. A nearly insignificant part of it comes from the sale of information products offered on the site. The creator and his wife are true believers and hard workers for nudism. (She served as FANR board member for 5 years.)

13] The other nudist organizations have their niche, and we have ours.

Our focus is on presenting respectable nudist opportunities to those not yet involved in a nudist organization, in other words, the interested public on a large scale.

We have dealt with the swinger issue head on, while AANR, for instance, chooses not to address it openly unless compelled to do so. We feel AANR does not actively and effectively prepare the public for encountering swingers that act badly, which leaves the public vulnerable to disappointment and confusion. We help to fill that void.

Another part of our niche is that our focus is on the nudist resorts you can visit. Honest trip reports and club information is our main basis. We are planning to develop on our website detailed and colorful guides to all the resorts, to be provided free of charge to the public. Most other nudist organizations provide only a link, email address, mailing address and telephone number for the majority of destinations. We already have that, plus our own Nude Google Maps. Our Nudist Resort Showcases will be a further innovation.

14] We support the resorts directly, and also the nude beaches.

We believe most nudists begin their journey with a visit to a nude beach. The health of our industry depends on the health of our nude beaches, and the availability of reliable information for visiting a nudist resort. The health of the nudism industry does not depend on buying a membership card from AANR, TNS or SUN.

15] We are holding our own, while the other organizations are steadily dropping off the scale.

Times are indeed tough. Like we said, it's an Internet driven world. We are already an important pillar of nudism, and our effectiveness will only increase for the reasons above.

Now in our eighth year, this is the Society for Understanding Nudism (SUN). Our discussion forum at Nudist-Resorts.Org was originally meant to be only the first phase of our endeavor. It provides our outreach and advertising base and had to be built first. Now we're rolling out the rest.

We haven't yet opened membership in the SUN for cardholding individuals, but our forum members have been requesting it. We need a quality group of resorts working with us to offer discounts and specials to our members, and that's what we're doing now.

A very respectable record. This is the only NUDIST website I spend any particular effort on, (for whatever that might be worth.) To all who post construc5tively, or just study and enjoy what others have written, Keep up the good work!

I for one am very happy with this site. I've only been a member a short time but it has helped me move a little further "out of the closet" about the nudist lifestyle. I'm still pretty much in the closet, but now the door is open and I'm looking out. I think it is being able to finally tell someone (other than my wife) and share stories and discuss topics here that I couldn't have talked to anyone else about. Before I became a member, I used to read the posts...it was what finally gave me enough courage to go to a CO beach...which I finally did last year. So THANKS to you and to the many members I've been fortunate enough to meet. Rob

Just thought I'd say thanks for providing such a great place for real nudists to exchange thoughts and knowledge. I've tried many other "nudist " sites and none have come close to this one.

Thank you for your response.

As it is the nature of this site, we are open to any and all questions as long as they are real. Obviously, people have various questions, and where else can they go to ask them, except to an open and honest nudist forum.

This is why we have created this nudist community, just so that inquiring minds can understand nudism.

If you feel that our site is not to your liking, we apologize to you. However, if you cannot understand what this community is about, perhaps you can be happier elsewhere. We welcome you to stay, and grow with us. We value everyone's input, if expressed in a friendly manner and within our posting rules.

Any legitimate question deserves a legitimate answer. The first two we consider to be legitimate questions, and the forum membership seems to support that view.

The last question is merely a good opportunity to show others like this how we deal with them. We do leave some trolls undeleted in order to make an example of them. Some questions of household nudity could be legitimate, depending on the approach.

If you must engage this question with the Admin, this is not the place to do so. Try the Hard Questions for Admin thread.
